Natural and cultural heritage
Due to its ecological mega diversity and its historical and cultural richness, Mexico is one of the countries with the largest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
As of 2020, our country has thirty-five designated sites (twenty-seven as a cultural asset, six as a natural asset, and two as a mixed asset). This makes it the seventh country with the highest number of sites on the list; as well as the first in Latin America and the Caribbean, and also in the American continent.
In addition, it has ten traditions and festivities recognized as intangible cultural heritage.
