Economic Affairs and Promotion, Embassy of Mexico in Belgium, Luxembourg, and EU

The Economic Affairs section of the Mexican Embassy in Belgium-EU provides advice and support to those Mexican companies seeking to export their products and / or services to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union.

The European Union represents a strategic market for Mexico, both in terms of trade and investment because of its size (448 million consumers), as well as its high purchasing power. The European Union is Mexico's third largest trading partner (75 billion dollars in 2019) and second global investor (approximately 180 billion dollars in 2019). The modernized Mexico-EU Global Agreement opens up new perspectives and opportunities for trade and investment, as well as for political dialogue and cooperation. In this context, the new economic promotion strategy of Mexico´s Ministry of Foreign Affairs embraces these new opportunities in its promotion activities abroad and supports Mexico´s entrepreneurs by making business advice and support available across its network of Embassies and Consulates.

Mexican companies interested in exporting to Belgium and Luxembourg receive advice from the Economic Promotion Section of our Embassy on the following export-related issues, among others:

• Detail of the Belgian and Luxembourgish market
• Available business opportunities
• Applicable regulations
• Information on trade fairs by sector
• Providing contacts with chambers of commerce
• Providing contacts with importers
• Making specific contacts, where applicable
• Trade missions support
