Tell us about your trip to Mexico — through a single, eloquent photograph that best expresses how you experienced its profound cultural heritage, its rich history, its colour and lively traditions, in a way that will inspire others to follow in your footsteps and discover for themselves the exceptional experiences Mexico has to offer
Contest Rules for participants:

#MyPicOfMexico is a photo contest open to British citizens, 18 years of age and over, currently living in the United Kingdom with a valid passport to travel to Mexico between January and July 2018.

Participants must guarantee that their entries are of their own creation and do not violate the rights of any third party or any copyright. All text included in the submission must be in English.

Participants should upload their pictures (up to 5 per participant) to Instagram with an account set as public.

The uploaded photos should include the following:

Year and precise location of the photo-shoot (Using geolocation);

A title and a brief explanation describing its relevance to the competition’s theme and why the image makes them wish to go back to Mexico;

Participants should follow The Mexican Embassy’s Instagram account @Embamex_gbr as well as Aeromexico’s Instagram Account @aeromexico, the Mexican Tourism Board @visitmexico and Grand Velas Resort Los Cabos @grandvelascabos
Criteria for uploading photos:

The topic of the picture should be in line with the contest’s theme, i.e. portraying Mexico’s landscape, cultural heritage, rich history, colour and lively traditions and/or the hospitality of its people;

Creativity and originality;

Photos can be in colour or black and white;
-
They must not be digitally manipulated, but can be edited using Instagram filters and its creative tools;
-
Participants must retain a hard copy as proof of their authorship;
@Embamex_gbr should be mentioned in the caption as well as the hashtags #MyPicofMexico and the accounts of @visitmexico @grandvelascabos and @aeromexico.

The photos should be uploaded from : ---- August 2017 until October 2017
*Prizes
-First Award- 4 days and 3 nights for two at Grand Velas Los Cabos @grandvelascabos. (From 16th January to 15th March 2018 with boletos premio sponsored by @aeromexico. Terms and conditions will apply). And a visit to Cabo Pulmo National Marine Reserve @visitloscabosuk.
-Second Award: Cooking class with wine pairing and dinner for two at Santo Remedio @santoremedio_uk restaurant.
-Third Award: Mexican meal for four people at Mestizo restaurant in London @mestizorestaurant with a bottle of house wine included.
Plus: All the pictures and the stories behind them will be published on Mexperience’s Award-Winning web site, and promoted through its newsletter and blog.
*The prizes will be announced at Mexico´s pavilion at the World Travel Market 6-8 November 2017.
How will the winners be chosen?
After the photos are uploaded to the participant’s Instagram account, a panel of qualified judges will review the submissions based on a pre-selection from all the pictures that have met the above-mentioned criteria. (It is mandatory to follow and mention the account @Embamex_gbr in the caption and to use the appropriate hashtags.) After a careful review of the best photographs, the judges will select (with full autonomy) the three best submissions, based on:
·The creativity and originality of the photo;
·The quality of the submission; and
·How the submission reflects passion and inspiration for Mexico
The short-list of finalists’ entries will be notified through Instagram by @Embamex_gbr on 3rd November 2017.
The judges´ decision is final, binding, and conclusive (without appeal) in all matters related to this contest and the awarding of the prizes.

By uploading their photos to Instagram, participants accept the rules, terms and conditions of #MyPicOfMexico photo-competition. Likewise, the participants guarantee that the photograph is their own original work and neither violates the rights of any third parties nor infringes upon intellectual property or any legal regulations. The contestant therefore accepts all legal responsibility for their participation in this competition, and obligations derived therefrom.
The participant retains ownership and copyright of their photo. However, by entering this competition, the contestant consents to the uncompensated use, publication, reproduction and exhibition of their photo for informative and promotional purposes, in digital and printed media, as well as on web sites and the social network profiles of the organisers (Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom, Mexico Tourism Board and Aeromexico) on sites such as Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and YouTube. Likewise, photos submitted may be printed to form part of an exhibition. In such an eventuality, the organisers pledge to recognise the source of the photos by using the name of the participant.
Other terms and conditions
The organisers (Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom, Mexico Tourism Board, and Aeromexico) reserve the right to disqualify participants who do not comply with the competition’s rules, infringe on third party rights, or provide false information.
Photographs which do not comply with the requirements or which are considered offensive, obscene, discriminatory, or inappropriate will be immediately disqualified and reported.
Participants will not receive any compensation for their images other than the prizes specified in the “rules” section.
Any circumstances not envisaged by the current set of terms and conditions will be resolved by the organisers at their discretion.
The personal data collected for this contest will not be used for any other purposes unless entrants provide explicit permission as indicated on the entry form. The organisers will collect personal information from the winners for the purposes of registration, program evaluation and to keep them informed about the prizes.
The organisers reserve their right, in their sole discretion, to modify, cancel, or suspend this contest if external circumstances arise, beyond their reasonable control. Moreover, they are not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this contest. This contest will run in accordance with these Contest Rules, subject to amendment by the organisers who reserve their right to cancel, amend, modify or terminate this contest or the rules at any time in their sole discretion and without notice.
Neither staffers from the Embassy of Mexico nor local employees from other institutions of Mexico´s government or workers or representatives from sponsors such as @visitmexico @aeromexico @mestizorestaurant @santoremedio_uk @grandvelascabos @visitloscabosuk
or @mexperience are entitled to participate in this contest.
The Jury:
1- Manuel Delaflor @manueldelaflor (Mexico) Visual artist, winner of two photography contests in Mexico, one organized by Motorola in 2008. The second was run by the Anglo Mexican Foundation in collaboration with "Cuarto Oscuro" (the most important photography magazine in Mexico) in 2010. Some of his photographs are part of the permanent collection of “El Mexico de los Mexicanos” and were the “photo of the day” during the selection stage of the contest, this was sponsored by Banamex, Aeromexico, El Centro de la Imagen and Google in 2012. During the same year, 4 of his images were displayed on “Paseo de la Reforma” (the most important avenue in Mexico City), in an event sponsored by Intel. In January 2016 he won the "CAMARADAS" contest, organised by the Mexican Embassy in the UK. It was called the "Jewel in the Crown" of the activities related to the cultural exchange between both countries on 2015.
His work has been exhibited in Mexico, Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, and some of his images are part of private collections in Mexico, Spain, The United States, Germany, The United Kingdom, and France. He is currently working on his next exhibition, that will take place in the city of Sheffield, UK at the end of 2017.
2. - Matthew Harrup. Founder of Mexperience @mexperience Award-Winning web site in 2002. British born and raised in Mexico, he’s a writer and editor for the website, the blog, and the newsletter. Harrup’s work has been focused on revealing the local charm and character of the country, revealing paths less often explored, and connecting tourists to travel and lifestyle experiences that reflect the true spirit of Mexico.

3. - Maria Marie is the creative mind behind the successful Instagram account @cestmaria with more than 127,000 followers. She is a creative photographer and stylist from Mexico, based in London. Her main interest is photographing cities, interiors, still life, and lifestyle. She is passionate about globetrotting and has travelled to more than 30 countries. Her work is known for its unique use of colour and whimsical styling. Textures, patterns, and playful elements are used consistently in her work. Maria is well known for her collaborations with creatives in many different fields and her numerous exhibitions. She has been featured on many international design blogs and magazines and she is still doing editorial work in London and abroad. Her most recent international publication featured her travels around Japan.
