Stone from Mexico to erect a commemorative monument

The government of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico donated a representative stone to build a commemorative monument in honor of the Canadian Jean Béliveau’s walk around the world.

Jean Béliveau started his walk as the ambassador of peace to call attention to peace and violence against children. During the 11-year long trip, he travelled across 61 countries, including Mexico walked 75.543 kilometers in total. Ha was passing by the town, Rákóczifalva where he reached his 40.000th km, which equals to the Earth’s circumference. From now on, the memorial will be decorated with the representative stone of Oaxaca, Mexico, which was given by Deputy Head of Mission, Minister César Ocaranza to Anikó Kóródi, coordinator of the Jean Béliveau project.
