THE 22ND OF MAY IN THE EMBASSY OF MEXICO OF HUNGARY THE AWARDS OF THE 18. CHILDREN’S DRAWING CONTEST “ESTE ES MI MÉXICO” WERE HANDED OVER TO THE HUNGARIAN WINNERS
The Embassy of Mexico in Hungary organized the 22nd of May the Awards of the 18th Children's Drawing Contest "This is my Mexico", whose theme this year was: "The Rights of Children" celebrating this way the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child of the UN.
The event took place at the Embassy of Mexico in Budapest. The Ambassador welcomed personally the winners. All the 3 Hungarian winners were invited and about 40 people, including the students and their teachers, participated on the event. The three winners were Réka Kovács Fruzsina from the Elementary School Kecskemét, students of Class 3/b of the Petőfi Sándor Elementary School in Debrecen. Unfortunately the third Hungarian winner of the contest, Csanád Csontos from the Igazgyöngy AMI Elementary Schoold could not be present during the ceremony.
The Ambassador stressed that she is very proud of the massive participation of Hungarian children: 108 children sent their works, drawings and we also received drawings from Slovakia and Bulgaria. She added that the massive participation shows the feelings and vision of the Hungarian children about Mexico and the way they perceive themselves.
She expressed her satisfaction with the great interest shown towards the competition each year. She stressed the role of the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IME) and the renowned Oaxacan painter Fernando Andriacci who inaugurated this competition, which has become a successful experience among Mexican and foreigner children that drives artistic expression.
After handing over the awards, some refreshers, snacks and sandwiches were offered to the children and their teachers.
