BUSINESS VISA
Romanian citizens do not require visa to go to Mexico in the following cases: if they travel to Mexico for business, attending conferences, seminars, courses, workshops or meetings and their stay does not exceed 180 days and they won’t receive any payment in Mexico for their activities and whether their activities within the company will be technical or limited to training and/or consultancy.
Nevertheless, the Migration Authorities at the airport may proceed with a second review and request other things such as: the address and length of stay in Mexico, the means of subsistence during the trip and the return flight ticket.
It is also advisable to bring the letters of both the company registered in Mexico and the one which employees the person in Romania.
The invitation letter has to include, without exception:
• The applicants’ full name and nationality;
• Name and address of the organization or private institution;
• Purpose of the organization or private institution;
• Full address and contact details of the organization or private institution;
• Information on the activities that the applicants will do within the organization or private institution;
• Estimated duration of their stay in Mexico (within 180 days);
• The written commitment that the organization or private institution will take over the maintenance of the foreign people during their stay in Mexico and their return to their country of origin, and
• Copy of the official identification with signature and photograph of the person that subscribes the responsive letter.
Original headed letter from the foreign company where the applicant works, stating the applicants salary, technical ability and that the applicant is going to be paid by the foreign company and is not going to receive any salary from a Mexican company or institution.

If the planned stay in Mexico exceeds 180 day and is less than 4 years, the person must apply for a long-term visa. Depending on the purpose, the person must comply with the following requisites:
Note: If the applicant will be hired by a Mexican company or institution and will receive their wages in Mexico, the company or institution must request directly a work permit in Mexico, at the National Institute of Migration: www.inm.gob.mx. Once you have permission (NUT), you must request an appointment at the Embassy of Mexico and a visa will be granted.
This is a single entry visa and will allow the applicants to enter to the country to exchange it for a Temporary Resident Card within 30 days upon their arrival at the nearest migration office (INM). The temporary resident card will be valid for one year and multiple entries.
On the contrary, if the person that will work in Mexico will receive their salary outside of Mexico by a foreign company, and stay in the country for more than 180 days, the person should comply with the following requisites:
1. Valid passport with an expiring date of at least six months after the entry day in Mexico.
2. Fill in the visa application form (link)
3. One passport size photograph (colour, with the face clearly visible, without glasses, white background and taken within the last month).
4. Original headed letter from the foreign company where the applicant works, stating the applicants salary, technical ability and that the applicant is going to be paid by the foreign company and is not going to receive any salary from a Mexican company or institution. The letter must specify that the applicant will stay in the country for more than 6 months.
5. Original and copy of the document proving that the applicant possesses the experience, abilities, skills or knowledge needed to undertake the activities for which he/she has been invited to perform in Mexico.
6. Original and copy of the last six month pay slips.
7. Headed letter from the Mexican company/institution inviting/requesting the professional services of the applicant. The letter must state the name of the prospective visitor, passport number, purpose and the length of stay. The letter must be accompanied by a photocopy of an official ID of the person who signed it.
8. Payment of the consular fee: check "TARIFAS" (the payment must be in USD dollars, in cash and the exact amount). A receipt will be issued accordingly. The payment will NOT be refunded if the visa application is rejected.
Notes:
If the company is not based in Romania, the letter has to be legalized (apostilled).
Procedure: The person interested must apply for an appointment through Mi Consulado for a long term business visa. The visa is issued in one day.
