Public Advisory on African Swine Fever

Precautions taken to avoid the introduction of the disease in Mexican territory. 

African Swine Fever (ASF) is a highly contagious disease of domestic and wild pigs. It is not a danger to human health, but it may be devastating for farming economy. In this regard, travelers to Mexico are asked to take precautions before traveling to Mexico, in order to not introduce the disease in Mexican territory. For this reason, screenings of passengers may be conducted at the ports of entry by the immigration authorities.
