VISAS

Please review the following information carefully before requesting an appointment.

The Embassy strongly recommends avoiding purchasing flight tickets or hotel reservations until your visa is granted to avoid unnecessary expenses or inconvenience.

1- General Considerations

  • Visas are not always granted on the same day of your appointment. Sometimes it can take up to seven working days to be granted.
  • Once the visa is granted, it is valid for 6 months. Which means that the foreign person has six months to enter Mexico.
  • We recommend making an appointment with enough time in advance.

2- Do I Need a Visa?

A. People with Belgian or Luxembourgish nationality do not require a visa to travel to Mexico as a visitor for up to 180 days (tourism, studies, unpaid professional internships, business, paid technical assistance from abroad, among others).

B. The complete list of nationalities that require a visa to enter Mexico can be consulted at the following link: https://www.inm.gob.mx/gobmx/word/index.php/paises-requieren-visa-para-mexico/

C. Citizens of Ukraine, Türkiye and Russia can apply for free visa, on the following link: https://www.inm.gob.mx/sae/publico/en/solicitud.html

D. Foreigners who meet any of the following requirements may visit Mexico as a tourist for no more than 180 days, without a visa:

  1. F+ titre de Sejour issued by the Belgian authorities. Note: for Belgians only the F+ permit is considered permanent.
  2. Permanent residence permit issued by the Luxembourg government.
  3. Document proving permanent residence in Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or any of the countries that make up the Schengen Area. Note: for Belgians only the F+ permit is considered permanent.
