Application Procedure

1. Prepare all required documents.
2. Schedule an appointment through the official system: https://citas.sre.gob.mx Select the option: “VISAS”.
3. Attend the appointment in person with all documents and complete the consular interview.
Payment is made on the day of the appointment, preferably by bank transfer.
For updated consular fees: https://embamex.sre.gob.mx/belgica/images/ServiciosConsulares/derechos_consulares2024

Four possible outcomes:
1. The documentation is complete, the interview is satisfactory, and no additional verification is needed → the visa may be issued the same day.
2. Additional documentation is required → you will be asked to complete it and come back with a new appointment within the next 10 business days.
3. The documentation is complete, the interview is satisfactory, but an alarm appears in the security or migration control lists, which means that additional verification is needed → processing may take up to 10 business days.
4. The applicant does not meet the requirements, or their consular interview is unsatisfactory → the visa is denied.

Important Considerations

• The visa is valid for 10 years, allows multiple entries, and each entry allows a stay of up to 180 days.
• The visa does not guarantee entry into Mexico; final admission is determined by immigration authorities at the port of entry.
• For minors, both parents must sign the application or provide notarized consent.
• Documents issued outside Belgium or Mexico must be apostilled or legalized and include a simple Spanish translation if necessary.
• Airline tickets or travel packages are not required and do not influence approval.
• Issuance of the visa depends on the documentation and the consular interview. Fees are non-refundable, even if the visa is denied.
