Important Considerations

• This procedure is free of charge

• Processing time: Up to one business day for official business trips or private visits of less than 90 days. For diplomatic or official visas for individuals accredited to an Embassy or Mission of an International Organization in Mexico, the processing time depends on the date the authorization is received from the Directorate General of Protocol. Once received, the visa is issued within one business day.

• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes on its website the regulations applicable to holders of diplomatic, official, or service passports. It is recommended that you check whether your nationality is exempt from a diplomatic or official visa.

• Please note that holders of diplomatic or official visas who will be assigned to an Embassy or Mission in Mexico have 30 calendar days from their entry into Mexican territory to register with the Directorate General of Protocol of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Directorate General will then issue an accreditation card and a new visa for the corresponding period, allowing multiple entries.
