Four possible outcomes:
- The documentation is complete, the interview is satisfactory, and no additional verification is needed → the visa may be issued the same day.
- Additional documentation is required → you will be asked to complete it and come back with a new appointment within the next 10 business days.
- The documentation is complete, the interview is satisfactory, but an alarm appears in the security or migration control lists, which means that additional verification is needed → processing may take up to 10 business days.
- The applicant does not meet the requirements, or their consular interview is unsatisfactory → the visa is denied.
Important Considerations
- Visa must be used within 180 days from issuance.
- Once in Mexico, you must apply for the Permanent Resident Card at Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) within 30 days of your arrival.
- The visa does not guarantee entry into Mexico; final admission is determined by immigration authorities at the port of entry.
- For minors, both parents must sign the application or provide notarized consent.
- Documents issued outside Belgium or Mexico must be apostilled or legalized and include a simple Spanish translation if necessary.
- Airline tickets or travel reservations are not required and do not influence visa approval.
- Issuance of the visa depends on the consular interview. Fees are non-refundable, even if the visa is denied.
