PROCEDURE TO APPLY FOR A MEXICAN VISA
Step 1: Prepare your documents according to the type of visa that you will apply for.
Visitor visa without permission to do remunerative activities
The following list of documents is a guide of the requirements. The Consular Section may request further forms of proof depending on each case.
All required documents must reflect complete name as shown in passport.
- Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
- Proof of legal stay in India (Visa copy and entry stamp) in case the applicant holds another nationality.

- One recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80% of the photo.
- Original cover letter given by your employer indicating the purpose and length of the trip. (Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the person signing the letter)
- Appointment letter ( Joining date document). All employees must have been working at least 1 year in the same company. If employees joined in less than one year:
- 12 month bank statement from the company, originally stamped and signed by the bank on every single page.
- Original and copy of a document attesting that the applicant has the experience to carry out the activity for which he is invited (example: original degree or educational certificate), duly apostilled.
- Original pay slips (last 3 months), stamped and signed by the company. Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the signatory
- Original letter of invitation from the Mexican company indicating the purpose, length of the trip and specifying what company will covers the employee's expenses. (Please include a copy of the passport or INE card/Residence card permit of the person signing the letter)
- Original personal bank statement (stamped and signed) or pass book (last 3 months) certified by the bank.
- Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) acknowledgment (previous year).
- Visa fee ($51 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).
If the applicant is a business owner, they must also include the following documents:
- Partnership deed which should include the name of the applicant or Company Registration before the State Government, duly apostilled.
- Income Tax Return of the Company for the last two years.
- Company Bank Statement for the last three months.

- Original deed of property ownership duly apostilled.
- Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) acknowledgment (previous year).
- Visa fee ($51 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).
- Applicants from Sri Lanka, Nepal and Maldives: all documents issued by their government (college degree, business establishment, birth certificate, and so) must be legalized first. For this process, click here
- For spouses who are financially dependent on the main applicant, include original and copy of marriage certificate duly apostilled and spouse's passport copy.
- If marriage certificate is from Sri Lanka, Nepal or Maldives, must be legalized. For this process, click here
- For children/ applicants under 25 years old who are financially dependent on the main applicant, include original and copy of birth certificate dully apostilled and parents passport copy
- If birth certificate is from Sri Lanka, Nepal or Maldives, must be legalized. For this process, click here
- For parents dependant on the main applicant, include original and copy of birth certificate of the main applicant dully apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs and passport copy

ADVICE for parents with MINOR APPLICANTS - As per visa process, all applicants including children need to give biometrics (picture and fingerprints). Please talk to your child before your visit to the Consular Section and prepare her/him for the same in order to process their application in a timely manner.
On that date, we will take a photograph and fingerprints, and an interview will be conducted as to confirm the purpose of the trip.

- Mission/objective of the organization or institution (private or public).
- Complete address and contact information of the organization or institution.
- Information of the activity or project that the guest is doing in the organization.
- Estimated duration of the activity that the guest will undertake.
- The letter will have to explicitly mention the commitment of the organization or institution to cover all expenses of the person invited during his/her stay in Mexico and the commitment of his return to his/her country of residence.
- Copy of an official identification with signature and photography of the person that will sign this letter.
- Original and photocopy of the last 12 months bank statements or investment proofs of the Mexican organization or institution, stamped and signed by the bank.
- A document attesting that the applicant has the experience to carry out the activity for which he is invited (example: original degree or educational certificate), duly apostilled.
- Visa fee ($51 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).

- Must include a copy of a government issued ID (photo and signature) of the Signatory.
- Proof of economic solvency to cover the studies.
- People who are receiving an scholarship: The letter of acceptance must mention the amount of the scholarship that the student will receive.
- People who are you are under 25 years old: Their parents can sponsor their studies by providing last three months of bank account certified by the bank
- Original and one copy of the student's birth certificate dully apostilled or legalized and passport copy of the parent under who's name is the bank account (all name MUST match in all the documents as per passport)
- People who are above 25 years old: Must demonstrate that they have enough resources to cover their expenses on their own:
- Original personal Bank Statement (stamped and signed) or Pass Book (last 3 months) certified by the bank.
- If applicable: Original pay slips (last 3 months) stamped and signed by the company. (Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the signatory)

- Original invitation letter issued by an agency of the Government of Mexico at the Federal Level. Must include a copy of a government issued ID (photo and signature) of the Signatory

Temporary Resident Visa (NUT holders)
The NUT (Número Único de Trámite) issued by the National Institute of Immigration (INM), is a consular interview authorization and does not imply a visa authorization.
If you are informed that the result of your visa interview will be sent to the INM for further review, the INM will notify the employer/main applicant upon their decision to grant or deny the visa.
Please note that NUT validity will not be affected during pandemic and until further notice.
The employer must submit the application before the local office of the National Immigration Institute (INAMI) in Mexico, www.inm.gob.mx.
INAMI will issue an authorization for an interview at the closest Consulate or Consular Section. Once the applicant has this authorization, he/she needs to submit the following documents, in person, at the nearest Consulate:
- Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
- Proof of legal stay in India (Visa copy and entry stamp) in case the applicant holds another nationality.

- Copy of the authorization from the National Immigration Institute (INAMI).

- Original and copy of job offer letter/employment letter from the Mexican employer, with the following information:
- Printted in letter head paper.
- Job position offered
- Length of job contract
- Job place
- Monthly salary amount in Mexican Pesos.
- Copy of the government issued ID of the signatory

All visa applications submitted to the Embassy of Mexico will cost $53.00 USD payable in INR at the current exchange rate.
Application fee for DECEMBER 2024 INR 4,619 only.
Be sure to pay exact amount ONLY. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee that the visa application will be approved.
DO NOT PAY visa fee before securing an appointment. Visa fee must be paid prior to the submission of the documents and after scheduling an appointment.

Step 4: Attend your appointment. Bring all your documents and payment receipt.
When you book your appointment through CITAS website you will receive a confirmation letter in your email which you must carry with you the day of your appointment.

Remember that payment is nonrefundable, even if visa is not approved, and needs to be done prior to the submission of documents. To avoid inconveniences, please make sure that you bring your complete documents.
ENTRY TO THE CONSULAR SECTION :
- Entry will be allowed only to those who have paid the visa fees in advance (RBL bank) and carry the original receipt/ print out of the transaction confirmation.
- Surgical mask is compulsory. (It is recommended to bring an extra mask, in case the one in use breaks)
- All the documents should be in one folder (plastic). No briefcases are allowed
- Bring all the required stationary with you (pencil, pen, glue stick etc.)
- Be informed that if any document is missing or you are unable to provide it at the time of document submission, you will have to take a new appointment using the Citas site.
- No electronic devices will be allowed ( phones, smart watches, head sets, laptops, tablets, etc)
- No metal or sharp objects will be allowed
- To avoid inconvenience, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.
Please be informed that these measures have been taken for the safety of the rest of the applicants and the Consular staff.
Step 5: Collect your passport
If your application is approved, visa processing time takes 2 working days.
You have to collect your passport in person or it can also be collected by another individual with an original letter of authorization and ID copy of the authorized person.

If you are granted a Mexican visa you will be able to travel to Mexico. Immigration authorities keep the right to grant or deny entry to the country. Officials can request information regarding the purpose and length of your trip, as well as the means to cover your expenses while you stay in the country.
Mexican immigration authorities will verify the authenticity of all documents you present and the truthfulness of the information you provide. They will also confirm that no outright restriction exists to enter the country.
:: HOLDERS OF U.S.A. CANADA, U.K. AND SCHENGEN VISAS ::
Holders of any type of valid, multiple entry and previously used U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen visas (any nationality) or permanent residence of U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen, Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Peru, Chile) DO NOT require a Mexican visa to travel on business, tourism, or transit purpose for or less than 180 days as long as they present any of the mentioned documents at the point of entry.
This is not applicable on temporary residence card holders of U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen, Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Peru, Chile). Holders of this type of residence must apply for a Mexican visa on any of its categories.
If you don't know if your U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom or Schengen visa is of temporary residence, please contact the Embassy of the country of said visa.
