Temporary Resident Visa authorized by the Migration National Institute
A foreign national who holds Unique Procedure Number letter (known as NUT) for remunerative work (lucrative activities) in Mexico or for family reunification issued by the Migration National Institute (INM) in Mexico, for a stay for more than six months up to one year, is required to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa within 30 days after receiving the notification of the official letter from the INM.
The visa issued at the Consular Office is a single-entry visa, valid up to 180 days and will allow his/her holder to enter Mexico to exchange it for a Temporary Resident Card within 30 days upon his/her arrival in Mexico at the nearest migration office (INM). The Temporary Resident Card will be valid for one year and multiple entries.
Applicants are required to apply for a visa in person through a pre-arranged interview at the Consular Section of the Embassy. Appointments are requested by the interested person to the following email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Requirements:
I. Valid passport and photocopy of the pages where the personal details and holder's photograph are found.
II. Visa application.
III. One passport sizer photograph (it must be in color, with the face clearly visible without glasses, white background and be taken within the last month).
IV. Proof of being a temporary resident in one of the following countries: Saudi Arabia, Bahrein, Oman or Yemen, only in cases when the foreign national is not a national of any of these countries.
V.- Copy of the official NUT letter issued by the INM.
VI. Payment of the consular fee on the day of the appointment in order to receive and to process the application, in accordance with the Federal Act of Fees. It also covers the issuance of the visa, if the visa is authorized.
In the case of visa refusal, the payment made will not be reimbursed. It is suggested that before submitting your application, to verify that your documentation is complete and reliable.
Processing time: From two up to five working days after handing in the aforementioned documentation, in a complete and satisfactory manner.
It is advisable not to book or buy flight tickets to Mexico if you have not been notified about the authorization of the issuance of your visa.
The submission of flight ticket is not a visa requirement, so it does not accelerate the processing time of a visa.
In the event that the applicant does not meet the applicable requirements or the consular interview is not satisfactory, the consular office requests reconsideration of the authorization from the INM within 5 business days following the day on which the corresponding interview was held, which will be reported to the applicant.
The INM will proceed to analyze the interview report and determine what is appropriate within a period not exceeding 7 business days. The visa will be issued exclusively when the INM issues the definitive resolution to the reconsideration request and it has been officially communicated to the consular office.
In the event that any data contained in the Unique Procedure Number (NUT) does not coincide with that reflected in the passport of the visa applicant or that the applicant presents another passport than the one mentioned in the INM official letter, the procedure will be cancelled. The interested party must inform their promoter about this situation so that they can request a new NUT at INM office that authorized the previous procedure.
