Procedure for Scheduling Visa Appointments
1. Access the Portal:
Visit the official website at citas.sre.gob.mx to begin the appointment scheduling process.
2. Language Selection:
On the account creation page, select your preferred language (e.g., English or French) from the available options at the top of the page.
3. Account Creation:
- Register using your full name as it appears in your passport.
- Appointments are non-transferable and must match the name on your travel documents.
4. Browser Recommendations:
- Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to manage your appointment.
- The system may not function properly on mobile devices; use a laptop or desktop computer.

Appointment Availability:
If the message "no office found" appears, it means all appointments for the current month are fully booked.
Release of New Appointments:
New slots are released on the last business day of each month, around 5 PM (Nigeria time). Slots may open an hour earlier or later.
Advance Registration:
- Create your account in advance to increase your chances of securing a slot.
- Slots are limited and fill up quickly.
- All appointments must be scheduled through the official portal.
Once You Have Scheduled an Appointment
1. Appointment Day:
Bring your appointment confirmation to the Embassy.
2. Required Documents:
Check the relevant visa requirement pages based on your case:
- Visa Without Permission for Remunerated Activities
- Temporary Resident Visa
- Student Visa
- Permanent Resident Visa
- Visa with a Unique Processing Number (NUT) from the National Institute of Migration (INM).
3. Interview:
- On the date of the appointment, you must present ALL REQUIREMENTS based on the type of visa you are applying for.
- Bring all your supporting documents (originals and copies).
- Biometric data (photograph and fingerprints) will be collected prior to the interview.
- Interviews are conducted in Abuja, Nigeria, at the Embassy premises.
- Only individuals with confirmed appointments will be granted entry to the Embassy.
- Please note that mobile phones, tablets, or any electronic devices are not permitted inside the Embassy premises.
