EXEMPTION OF THE MEXICAN VISA TO TRAVEL TO MEXICO
FOR ALL NATIONALITIES: The visitor of any nationality whose purpose of traveling to Mexico is tourism, business, or transit holding a valid Canadian, Japanese, British, USA, or Schengen Space countries visa does not need to obtain a Mexican visa. The immigration authorities at the point of entry in Mexico (airport -border - port) will verify the validity of the USA visa (or flight ticket USA-Mexico) and the passport presented and thereafter will grant entry to Mexican territory.
The visitor of any nationality whose purpose of traveling to Mexico is tourism, business or transit and who is a legal permanent resident in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, or the Schengen Space is exempted from applying for a Mexican visa, provided that the visitor proves the permanent residence before the immigration authorities at the point of entry in Mexico (airport -border - port).
The visitor holding an ABTC card issued by APEC is exempted from applying for a Mexican visa.
Malaysians
- Since 9th November 2012 the consular stamp does not longer exist and Malaysian nationals are exempted from obtaining a Mexican visa to enter Mexico if the purpose of the visit is to perform non-paid activities for up to 180 days (visitor without permit to perform paid activities). For example, tourism, business, technical visit and transit.
- A visa is required for the following cases:
- To study for more than 6 months
- To perform paid activities.
- To reside temporarily.
- To reside permanently.
- Malaysians holding a diplomatic or official passport do not require a visa to enter Mexico, being entitled to stays of 90 days.

Important
If you are granted a Mexican visa, you will be able to travel to Mexico. It does not guarantee entry to the country. At the point of entry, Mexican immigration authorities may ask you some questions to confirm the reasons you are traveling, the length of your stay in Mexico, and how you are financing your trip.
As in all countries, Mexican immigration authorities will verify the authenticity of all the documents you present and the truthfulness of the information you provide. They will also confirm that no outright restriction exists.

- Visitor without permit to perform paid activities. (Tourism, business, technical visit, transit, to study for less than 180 days).
- Visa Temporary Residence.
If you need to apply for a visa, you must fulfil the following requirements:
General requirements
- Submission of a valid passport, in original, and copy of the data page and applicant’s signature page.
- One studio colour photograph, applicant looking to the camera with face uncovered, no spectacles, white background, the minimum size of 32mm X 26mm and maximum size of 39mm X 31mm.
- If the applicant is not Malaysian, the legal stay in Malaysia must be proved.

- If the applicant is a minor, the parents or tutors must sign the format before the officer at the Embassy.
- Present the documents stated in the specific requirements (detailed below) according to the purpose of your travel to Mexico:
A. Tourist Visa.
This visa is for foreigners who want to enter Mexico for tourist, business reasons, or transit staying in the country for up to 180 days without a permit to work.
Malaysian citizens can enter Mexico for up to six months without a Mexican visa if they do not work and receive a salary from a company in Mexico.
Documents to be submitted by the visa applicant:
- An application form duly completed MUST be printed on both sides on one (1) page and please fill out the form on the back page as well, mandatory, mentioning documents presented together.
- Original and copy of passport;
- One photo, white background, without glasses, 32 mm X 26 mm or 39 mm x 31 mm;
- For foreigners residing in Malaysia, original and copy Malaysia working pass or working visa;
- Letter of employment, indicating the name of the company, address, telephone, e-mail, name of the workers, job function, date of joining the company, and salary after taxes. The letter must be sealed by the Human Resources Department of the company where the applicant works;
- Salary slips during the last three months with the stamp and signature of the manager of the Human Resources Department.
- If the person has been working less than 1 year in the current company, he or she must submit the letter of employment from the previous job with the stamp and signature of the manager of the Human Resources Department.
Or the visa applicant can submit the following documents:
- Original and copy of investments, a bank balance account during the last 3 months, with seal and signature of the bank
It is advisable that the visa applicant submits both the letter of employment and the bank statement during the application process.
Tourist VISA for Students. Submit the following documents:
- An application form duly completed MUST be printed on both sides on one (1) page and please fill out the form on the back page as well, mandatory, mentioning documents presented together.
- Letter of the University or School containing the name of the program the applicant is studying, the start date of the studies, the contact information of the university, the name of the applicant, and the seal and signature of the director.
- A statement from the school stating the amount of the scholarship and the date since the applicant has been awarded a scholarship.
- Letter of part- time-employment, indicating the name of the company, address, telephone, e-mail, name of the employee, job function, date of joining the company, and salary after taxes, with the stamp and signature of the manager of the Human Resources Department.

B. Visitor without permit to perform paid activities - Long validity

D. Temporary residence Visa.
This visa is for foreigners who intend to stay in Mexico for more than 180 days but no more than 4 years.
Temporary residence visa for family reunification.
Documents that the visa applicant must submit:
- An application form duly completed MUST be printed on both sides on one (1) page and please fill out the form on the back page as well, mandatory, mentioning documents presented together.
- Original and copy of passport;
- One photo, white background, without glasses, 32 mm X 26 mm or 39 mm x 31 mm;
- An original or a copy of a Malaysia working pass and working visa for foreigners residing and living in Malaysia;
- Original and notarized copy of the valid Mexican (Residente Temporal or Residente Permanente card)
- Original and copy of a marriage certificate; or
- Original and copy of the birth certificate. Submit this document if the visa applicant is a son or daughter of the father or mother who holds the Mexican Residente Temporal or Residente Permanente card
- The marriage certificate or birth certificate MUST be presented in Spanish or English and have the Apostille seal stamped on it or be legalized if the document was NOT issued in Mexico.
- Original and copy of investments, a bank balance account with seal and signature of the bank during the last 12 months.
- Letter of employment, indicating the name of the company, address, telephone, e-mail, name of the workers, job function, date of joining the company, and salary after taxes. The letter must be with the stamp and signature of the manager of the Human Resources Department where the person who holds the Mexican (Residente Temporal or Residente Permanente card).
- Salary slips for the last six months of the person who holds the Mexican (Residente Temporal or Residente Permanente card) with the seal and signature of the bank.
Temporary residence visa for economic solvency.
- Letter of employment, indicating the name of the company, address, telephone, e-mail, name of the workers, job function, date of joining the company, and salary after taxes. The letter must be sealed by the Human Resources Department of the company where the applicant works;
- Salary slips during the six months with the stamp and signature of the manager of the Human Resources Department.
- Original and copy of investments, a bank balance account during the last 12 months, with seal and signature of the bank.
- Any foreign bank statement or investment certificate must be authenticated by a notary public from the country where the document was issued or originated. Later, the document must be apostilled or legalized if the country is not a member of the Apostille Convention.
- The marriage certificate or birth certificate must be presented in Spanish or English, have the Apostille seal stamped on it, or be legalized if the document was not issued in Mexico.
Temporary residence visa for owning real estate in Mexican territory.
Original and copy of deeds of real property registered in the name of the applicant.
Temporary residence visa for an investor.
- Original and copy of the deed of the Mexican company issued by Notary Public, or other document certified by the company’s administration or company’s officer in which is stated that the applicant is a shareholder, attaching the correspondent document that shows the shareholding;
- Original and copy of the document proving the ownership of a real estate by the foreign company;
- Original and copy of the documents that support the economic or entrepreneurial activities in Mexican territory, which can be contracts, service orders, invoices, receipts, business plans, licenses or permits, and certificates from the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social that state that the applicant employs at least 5 persons.
E) Student Temporary Residence Visa.
- Letter of acceptance by the University/Institution which should include the following information:
- Name of the University or Institution, address, and official registration number;
- Complete name of the applicant/student (same as in the passport) and nationality;
- Level of the course and area of studies;
- Name of the course or activity;
- Length of the course and dates;
- Cost of the course or activity;
- Proof of economic solvency to cover the studies. Bank statements for the last three months with signature and seal of the bank or Letter of employment, indicating the name of the company, address, telephone, e-mail, name of the employee, job function, date of joining the company, and salary after taxes, with the stamp and signature of the manager of the Human Resources Department;
- People who are receiving a scholarship: The letter must mention the amount of the scholarship that the student will receive;
- People who are you are under 25 years old: Their parents can sponsor their studies. The birth certificate of the visa applicant and official identifications of both parents must be submitted;
- People who are above 25 years old: Must demonstrate that they have enough resources to cover their expenses on their own.
F. Permanent residence

G. Visitor or temporary resident with permission to engage in gainful activity
Temporary Residence Visa by a Job offer from a company in Mexico.
- This visa is for foreigners who intend to stay in Mexico for more than 180 days and no more than 4 years, allowing them to work in the country.
- Documents the visa applicant must submit:
- An application form duly completed MUST be printed on both sides on one (1) page and please fill out the form on the back page as well, mandatory, mentioning documents presented together.
- Original and copy of passport;
- One photo, white background, without glasses, 32 mm X 26 mm or 39 mm x 31 mm;
- An original or a copy of a Malaysia working pass or working visa for foreigners residing and living in Malaysia;
- A letter from the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INAMI) containing the NUT number. (Número Único de Trámite).
- A letter from the company in Mexico that offers a job to a foreigner in Mexico, explaining the job title, job function, monthly salary after taxes, contact details, and the Human Resources Department seal of the company;
- A notarized copy of the person who signs the letter issued by the company in Mexico that offers a job to the foreigner; and
- Letter of employment, indicating the name of the company, address, telephone, e-mail, name of the workers, job function, date of joining the company, and salary after taxes. The letter must be stamped and signed by the manager of the Human Resources Department.
