Enrique Ochoa
Mexican Ambassador to Kenya and Permanent Representative of Mexico to UNEP and UN-Habitat.
Enrique Ochoa is a member of the Mexican Foreign Service since 1999. Before his appointment as Ambassador to Kenya, he served at the Permanent Mission of Mexico to United Nations (2019-2023) as UN Security Council Political Coordinator.
Previously, he served as:
- Senior advisor to the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean (2018).
- Member of the Panel of Experts of the United Nations Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1540 (2004) on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction to non-State actors. Appointed by former UNSG Ban Ki-moon (2013-2017).
- Consul of Mexico in Philadelphia (2012).
- UN Security Council, disarmament and human rights expert at the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations (2007 -2011).
- Disarmament and environment expert at the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the International Organizations in Geneva (1999-2006).
He holds a BA in International Relations, a MA in Political Economy and a MA in Diplomacy. He speaks Spanish, English, French, German and Italian.
