STUDENT TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA
Foreigners who wish to remain in Mexico for a period greater than 180 days to attend courses, pursue studies, or conduct research projects at an educational institution belonging to the National Educational System in Mexico, must comply with the following:

Application form, duly filled with a handwritten signature (https://embamex.sre.gob.mx/indonesia/images/solicitudes/Visa_Application_Form_2024.pdf).
- Passport with a validity of more than 6 months, original and copy.
- Proof of legal stay in Indonesia:
For Indonesian: Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP), original and copy.
For foreigners: Temporary Resident Card (KITAS), original and copy; or Permanent Resident Card (ITAP), original and copy. - One recent color picture (3cm ×4cm, full white background (light blue or gray are not acceptable), without glasses nor contact lenses, front view. Please make sure that any hair is not covering your forehead nor ears.
- Pay the fee of 54 USD (which will be paid on the day informed by the consular officer). Further information will be provided after complying with the requirements.
6. Original letter of acceptance from the institution that belongs to the National Educational System in Mexico where the applicant intends to study. The letter must include the following information:
A. Complete name of the applicant (Nombre completo del solicitante);
B. Level, degree, and area of study that will be pursued (Nivel, grado y área de estudio que el solicitante pretenda estudiar);
C. Name of the course in which the applicant has been accepted (Nombre del curso en el que ha sido aceptado);
D. Starting date and ending date of the course (Fecha de inicio y terminación del curso);
E. Cost of the school fees (Costo de la matrícula del curso);
F. School’s contact information (Datos de identificación de la institución educativa).
7. Submit one of the following economic solvency documents to cover all the expenses of school fees, accommodation and daily expenses during the applicant’s stay in Mexico:
A. Official employment letter, pension, or scholarship, in English, with a minimum amount of USD 1,650 approx. per month during the last three months. Original and copy.
B. Original bank statement (separated by month):
- Bank statement, separated by month, with an average monthly balance of more than USD 14,700 approx. per month, during last 3 months, stamped and signed by the bank officers. (The month that you apply for the visa is not counted in the 3 months). Original and copy.
- If the bank statements do not any contain information of the amount of monthly average balance, a monthly average balance statement letter issued by the bank (in original) is required.
- Original bank reference letter in English, that contains your information and confirms that you hold an account in this bank. It is also necessary to provide a contact number of the Bank.
NOTE: if the appointment is to be held on the next month, you would need to update the bank statement and letter.

This consular service is personal and cannot be represented by someone else because there will be an interview with the Consul.
2. The Consul may ask you for further supporting documents if needed.
3. We would suggest you to start sending your documents at least 2 weeks before your trip in order to avoid any inconvenience. We also do not recommend you to purchase the flight tickets yet until you finish with the visa application process.
4. In compliance with all the requirements, a valid single-entry visa will be issued. Once the applicant has entered Mexican territory, he or she must, within the first 30 calendar days, apply to the National Migration Institute (INM) for a temporary resident card.
5. The issuance of your visa does not guarantee your entrance to Mexico as the immigration officers will determine whether to authorize or deny your entry to Mexico.
6. Any document that is not issued in Indonesia must be notarized and apostilled or legalized.
7. Foreigners who wish to travel to Mexico to conduct remunerated activities must invariably have an offer of employment. The Mexican institution or person who intends to employ the foreigner must submit the visa application
