VISITORS WITHOUT PERMISSION TO PERFORM REMUNERATED ACTIVITIES 

This visa is for foreigners who wish to stay in Mexico less than 180 days and will not perform remunerated activities.

  1. Application form, duly filled with a handwritten signature (https://embamex.sre.gob.mx/indonesia/images/solicitudes/Visa_Application_Form_2024.pdf).

  2. Passport with a validity of more than 6 months, original and copy.

  3. Proof of legal stay in Indonesia:
    • For Indonesian: Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP), original and copy.
    • For foreigners: Temporary Resident Card (KITAS), original and copy; or Permanent Resident Card (ITAP), original and copy.

  4. One recent color picture  (3cm ×4cm, full white background (light blue or gray are not acceptable), without glasses nor contact lenses, front view. Please make sure that any hair is not covering your forehead nor ears.

  5. Pay the fee of 54 USD (which will be paid on the day informed by the consular officer). Further information will be provided after complying with the requirements.

  6. One of following options (A, B or C).

    • A. Personal bank account statement. 

      • Original bank statement, separated by month, with a monthly average balance of more than USD 4,600 approx.- per month, during last 3 months, stamped and signed by the bank officers. (The month that you apply for the visa is not counted in the 3 months). Bank statements must be from the very first date until the last date of the month.
      • If the bank statements do not any contain information of the amount of monthly average balance, a monthly average balance statement letter issued by the bank (in original) is required.
      • Original bank reference letter in English, that contains your information and confirms that you hold an account in this bank. It is also necessary to provide a contact number of the Bank.

    • B. Employment letter 

      i. Original official employment letter in English (attached an example of employment letter for your reference), that must contain the points below:

      - Header and footer;
      - Exact amount of monthly salary, which has to be with a minimum of USD 1,650 approx.- per month;
      - Position;
      - Period of work (at least 1 year);
      - Guarantee that the applicant will not seek any employment and will return to origin country once the trip is completed.

      ii. ID of the person who signed the letter
      iii. Salary pay slip during the last 3 months (not including the month that you are applying), original and copy. Please be advised that if the application is not concluded within the same month as the application, then you would need to update this document
      iv. Company registry, original and copy. If the company registry is in Indonesian, then a simple translation of the document must be presented. This translation does not have to be translated by an official and sworn translation.

    • C. Invitation letter

      Original letter of the inviting institution, either Mexican or Indonesian institution, that is responsible of the applicants’ expenses during their stay in Mexico. The invitation letter must be issued and contain the points as follow and the signature must be handwritten with an inked stamp:
      • a. Complete name and nationality of the applicant;
        b. Name of the inviting institution;
        c. Official registration number of the inviting institution;
        d. Object of the inviting institution: a brief explanation of what the institution does;
        e. Complete address and contact person of the institution;
        f. Information regarding the activity that the applicant is invited to participate;
        g. An approximate of period of time of the activity that will be held;
        h. Commitment that the inviting institution will pay the expenses during the applicant’s stay in Mexico and return to country of origin);
        i. Copy of the official identification who signed the letter that contains picture and signature of the signatory (preferably passport).
    • Original bank statement of the inviting institution, separated by month, with a monthly average balance of more than USD 14,700 approx.- per month, during last 12 months, duly stamped and signed by the bank officers. (The month that you apply for the visa is not counted in the 12 months). If the bank statement does not contain any information regarding the monthly average balance, then a statement letter in Spanish or English from the bank, that states the monthly average balance for the last 12 months, must be submitted. Attached the example of how to calculate the monthly average balance and the monthly average balance letter for your reference.

    • Proof that the applicant has experience, abilities, or enough knowledge to develop the activities contained in the letter of invitation. It could be a letter of employment that explains their experience, and why they are suitable for that trip. Please be advised that the signature must be handwritten with an inked stamp. Furthermore, the letter must be accompanied by a copy of the ID of the person that is signing the letter.

NOTES:

  2. The Consul may ask you for further supporting documents if needed.
  3. We would suggest you to start sending your documents at least 3 weeks before your trip in order to avoid any inconvenience. We also do not recommend you to purchase the flight tickets until you finish with the visa application process.
  4. The issuance of your visa does not guarantee your entrance to Mexico as the immigration officers will determine whether to authorize or deny your entry to Mexico after an interview.
  5. Any document that is not issued in Indonesia must be notarized and apostilled or legalized.
