Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma makes a working visit to several US states to strengthen the consular network.

 

The Embassy of Mexico in the United States informs that Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma begins today, and until August 24th, 2021, a working visit to Texas, Florida and California, where he will seek to contribute, along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, to the strengthening of the consular network, while establishing strategic alliances to empower the Mexican community. He will also continue to promote the USMCA as a tool for the integration of supply chains and the economic recovery. 

From August 16th to 18th, Ambassador Moctezuma will travel to the city of San Antonio, Texas, where he will meet with leaders of the automotive industry; Congressman Joaquín Castro; the mayor of San Antonio, Ron Nirenberg; members of civil society organizations; businessmen and leaders of chambers of commerce. Of special relevance will be his participation in the XXV Border Environmental Forum organized by the North American Development Bank, where he will talk about the importance of bilateral cooperation to strengthen border infrastructure and protect the environment. 

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has commissioned the defense of migrants through the consulates of Mexico in the United States. In this sense, Ambassador Moctezuma will meet with workers from the agricultural sector and from the packing industry to learn directly from them about their working conditions and needs. 

With this visit, Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma reiterates his commitment to the Mexican communities in the United States to help build the program to strengthen the consular network that currently assists more than 36 million Mexicans who live, study and work in the United States.
