Health Actions
1.- North American Leaders Summit (NALS)

The NALS was held in Mexico City in January 2023, between Mexico, Canada, and the US, agreeing that health corporations would focus on updating the North American Plan for Pandemic and Animal Influenza (NAPAPI), to improve prevention, preparedness, and rapid response to health emergencies in North America.

2.- Summit of the Americas

  • Within the framework of the 9th Summit of the Americas in June 2022, the Economic and Health Dialogue of the Americas (EHA), consists of a series of official sectoral meetings, with the objective of strengthening public health systems and protecting the economies of the region. This includes sharing lessons learned during the pandemic and recommendations identified by various experts from the private sector and civil society.

  • The Embassy provides support to Mexican correspondents to achieve the objectives proposed in this initiative.
3.-Supporting the purchase of medicines for the health sector in Mexico

  • The process of purchasing medicines and health materials from around the federal public health sector in Mexico is carried out through a consolidated demand process managed by the Institute of Health for Well-being.

  • The Embassy supports this process by seeking partnerships with companies or suppliers of medicines and health materials with the purpose of finding the best quality and price. This helps strengthen reliable supply chains between Mexico and the United States.
4.-Health Windows

  • The Health Window is a program designed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help identify the health services needed by Mexican families in the United States.

  • The consulate network of Mexico in the United States offers education in different health issues and references citizens to the different services available in each location. The goal of the Health Window is to improve the access to primary and preventive health services, increasing coverage in public insurance, and to promote a culture of health prevention.
