Consider these specifics for your application:

  • The application must be filed by each applicant personally.
  • Without exceptions, all documentation must be provided in ORIGINAL with the official stamp and signature of the issuing authority, along with a simple photocopy of each required document. Colour copies or digital formats are NOT accepted as original documents under any circumstance.
  • Documents not issued in Mexico or in the countries of competence of this Embassy (Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia) must be apostilled or legalized by the Embassy of Mexico in the country of origin (as appropriate).
  • Documents in a language other than Spanish, English or German must be presented along with an official translation into Spanish or English by a certified translator, without exceptions. Documents in Slovenian or Slovak language require only a simple translation.
  • Minors must be accompanied by both parents or a legal representative, each of whom needs to present a valid passport. If one of the parents is deceased, a certified copy of the Mexican, Austrian, Slovenian or Slovak death certificate must be presented (the latter two along with a translation into Spanish or English). Documents issued by another country must contain the corresponding Apostille or legalization, as well as a certified translation into Spanish or English. The loss of custody does not imply the loss of any parental rights, so a custodial sentence will not be enough to obtain a visa for a minor without the other parent's authorization!
