- Application form duly filled - (Download).
- One passport-size color photograph, taken in a studio or photo booth, with face uncovered on a white background, printed on photo paper.
- For applicants who are not citizens of Sweden, Lithuania, or Latvia but reside in one of these countries, please submit a copy of your valid Swedish, Lithuanian, or Latvian residence permit. If you are a citizen of another EU member state, please provide a proof of registration issued by the local authorities. If you do not meet these criteria, please contact the Mexican Embassy nearest to your place of habitual residence.
- You can choose one (1) of these options to prove the family ties and the economic solvency, if applies:
- ORIGINAL of the extract of information from Skatteverket (Tax office) stamped and signed issued no more than two (2) months ago or if the marriage was not performed in Sweden, the certificate must be apostilled and translated into English or Spanish or Mexican marriage certificate.
- ORIGINAL valid Mexican passport of the Mexican spouse. The presence of the person is required.
- ORIGINAL of the extract of information from Skatteverket (Tax office) stamped and signed issued no more than two (2) months ago or if the marriage was not performed in Sweden, the certificate must be apostilled and translated into English or Spanish.
- ORIGINAL valid Mexican temporary residence card/visa of the person residing in Mexico. The presence of the person is required.
- ORIGINAL bank account statements from the past twelve (12) months of the person residing in Mexico or holding a Mexican temporary residence visa must be submitted. If the bank statements are from a financial institution outisde Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia or Mexico, they must be apostilled. Alternatively, you may provide an employment letter stating the start date of employment, net monthly salary (after taxes), along with the last twelve (12) pay slips from the person residing in Mexico or holding a Mexican temporary residence visa.
(For minors, the presence of the parents or the person holding full custody is mandatory.)
- ORIGINAL of the extract of information from Skatteverket (Tax office) stamped and signed issued no more than two (2) months ago or if the birth certificate was not issued in Sweden, the certificate must be apostilled and translated into English or Spanish.
- Passports of both parents or the person holding full custody.
- ORIGINAL valid Mexican temporary residence card or visa of the parent(s) residing in Mexico.
- ORIGINAL bank account statements from the past twelve (12) months of the person residing in Mexico or holding a Mexican temporary residence visa must be submitted. If the bank statements are from a financial institution outisde Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia or Mexico, they must be apostilled. Alternatively, you may provide an employment letter stating the start date of employment, net monthly salary (after taxes), along with the last twelve (12) pay slips from the person residing in Mexico or holding a Mexican temporary residence visa.
Important Visa Notes
♣ Sponsorship: Only for first-degree relatives (parents, children, spouses); therefore, please attach the corresponding documents (marriage certificate or birth certificate), apostilled and translated into English if the registration was performed outside Sweden.
♣ Residence Permit: Must be valid for at least 4 months.
♣ Visa Validity: The visa must be exchanged for your residence permit within six months from the date of issuance, so it is recommended to apply 1–2 months before you move to Mexico.
♣ Minors: ORIGINAL of the extract of information from Skatteverket (Tax office) stamped and signed issued no more than two (2) months ago or if the birth certificate was not issued in Sweden, the certificate must be apostilled and translated into English or Spanish.
After you submit your documents, the review process may take up to 10 days. Once the review is complete, we will contact you to schedule an appointment, depending on availability. Appointments are usually available within 3–4 weeks.
To avoid delays, we recommend applying at least 1–2 months before your planned trip.
Emails containing download links or files in formats other than PDF will not be answered.
