Guadalupe Nettel in Gothenburg
Mexican author Guadalupe Nettel will be present at the Göteborg Book Fair in September, where she will participate in two seminars, on Friday 25 and Saturday 26.
Nettel’s novel “The Body I was Born In” is a confessional, fictionalized account about her childhood in a dysfunctional family, with parents who enacted many of the 1970’s progressive ideals.

Mexican Film Posters Exhibit in Riga
The Embassy of Mexico, Mehiko Maja and The National History Museum of Latvia invite the public in Riga to attend the exhibition "Posters of Mexican Movies," taking place in the Museum's Dauderi wing between August 28 and October 3, 2015.
Mexican Food Festival at the Sheraton Hotel Stockholm
The Sheraton Hotel Stockholm and the Embassy of Mexico are hosting a Mexican food festival from September 2nd to the 8th. Well-known Mexican chef Jorge Carlos Gonzalez and the Sheraton Hotel's own kitchen team will prepare specialty dishes throughout the week. Jorge has prepared a menu designed to take guests on a culinary journey to Mexico and back. Both locals and hotel guests are welcome to this event exploring Mexican cuisine.
The menu, which was specifically composed for this occasion, offers renowned Mexican dishes with a twist.

Mexican Wrestling Film Screened in Riga
The Mexican film “Santo en el Museo de Cera” (Santo in the Wax Museum) was presented at the Unicon Festival in Riga, Latvia, which took place on the 1st and 2nd of August. The film was screened in the Olimpiskais Sporta Centrs building. Some 2,500 attendees were present at this anime, film, and gaming event.
Mexican Pianist Alejandro Vela in Uppsala

Jorge Marín Exhibition in Latvia
Mexican artist Jorge Marín's itinerant exhition will open on November 10th in Riga, Latvia's City Hall, where it will remain open to the public until December 28th. Later on, from December 3rd to January 16th, the exhibit will move to the "Dauderi" Department of Latvia's Museum of National History.
Day of the Dead altar at the Stadsmuseet
On Saturday, November 1st, the Embassy of Mexico and the Stadsmuseet in Stockholm inaugurated a traditional altar for the Day of the Dead at the museum's premises. The altar was dedicated to the Mexican writer Octavio Paz on the 100th anniversary of his birth, and will remain open to the public until Thursday, November 6th.

Mexican Author Álvaro Enrigue at the Stockholm Literature Festival
Mexican writer Álvaro Enrigue, recipient of the Herralde Award, visited Sweden from October 24th to the 27th to present the Swedish translation of his novel, "Sudden Death" (Muerte Súbita).
The writer participated in the Stockholm Literature Festival, from October 24th to 26th, and also presented his book in Malmö on October 27th.

Ambassador Gasca Pliego Inaugurates "Mexiko" exhibit at Svenskt Tenn
On June 10th, Ambassador Gasca Pliego inaugurated the exhibit of Mexican craftwork “Mexiko” at Strandvägen’s Svenskt Tenn boutique. In it, beautifully handcrafted Mexican objects, including silver and bronze pieces, as well as colorful baskets, textiles, and ceramics, meld with the best of Swedish design at the famous boutique. This beautiful and intriguing array of objects from all over Mexico form a fine representative sampling of some of the best traditional Mexican handiwork. The exhibit runs from June 10th to August 17th, and all items are for sale.

Gabriel Orozco Exhibit at Moderna Museet
"Natural Motion," 14th February - 4th May
Gabriel Orozco is one of the most widely recognized artists of his generation, and a key figure in understanding the contemporary art world. His work will be exhibited at the Moderna Museet Stockholm from the 14th February to the 4th May.
Orozco's oeuvre paved the way for a new form of conceptualism which embraces both deep contemplation and precise craftsmanship.
Alondra de la Parra in Stockholm
Conductor Alondra de la Parra will be in Stockholm during November to direct the Sveriges Radio Symfoniorkester at Berdwalhallen on Nov. 27-28.
