MEXICAN CUISINE DEMONSTRATION WITH CHEF PATI JINICH AT LE CORDON BLEU

 

LONDON, United Kingdom, 16th August 2017. – Le Cordon Bleu, the leading global network of culinary arts and hospitality management institutes, hosted an exclusive evening of Mexican cuisine with the acclaimed chef, author and TV host Pati Jinich.

 

During the demonstration, the audience was encouraged to plunge into the delicious world of authentic Mexican gastronomy, known for its ample ingredient combinations, its pre-hispanic influence, and the use of exotic condiments.  

 

The culinary arts, wine and management school, which is steeped in a rich history and heritage spanning over 120 years, welcomed Pati into their state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen yesterday, where she introduced her audience to the fascinating evolution of Mexican gastronomy and Mexico´s diverse and rich culture.

 

Jinich is the popular host of the American TV series Pati´s Mexican Table on PBS, which is about to premiere its 6th season. The show has twice been nominated for the Emmy Awards, and received the 2016 Imagen Award for Best National Informational Programme, among others.

 

Jinich has dedicated her career to showcase Mexico’s diverse and rich culture through her recipes in various cookbooks such as “Mexican Today” and her popular blog where readers can look-up recipes and tips. 

 

The Mexican celebrity chef says, “I test every recipe until it becomes a magic potion that anybody can make, whether it is for my classes, episodes of Pati´s Mexican Table program on PBS, or family meals. I also try my best to make each class, each episode and each blog post as meaningful as I can for those who take the time to connect”.

Photography contest: “MyPicOfMexico” for Instagram

 

Concept:

 

#MyPicOfMexico photo-competition

  • Share your favourite photograph from your trip to Mexico on Instagram and you could win the opportunity to return there!

  • With over 35 million visitors annually, Mexico is one of the world’s top ten favourite holiday destinations. The UK is our third-largest source of international visitors: more than half-a-million British tourists visited Mexico in 2016, a number only surpassed by our NAFTA partners.

  • Tell us about your trip to Mexico — through a single, eloquent photograph that best expresses how you experienced its profound cultural heritage, its rich history, its colour and lively traditions, in a way that will inspire others to follow in your footsteps and discover for themselves the exceptional experiences Mexico has to offer

 

Contest Rules for participants:

  • #MyPicOfMexico is a photo contest open to British citizens, 18 years of age and over, currently living in the United Kingdom with a valid passport to travel to Mexico between January and July 2018.

  • Participants must guarantee that their entries are of their own creation and do not violate the rights of any third party or any copyright. All text included in the submission must be in English.

  • Participants should upload their pictures (up to 5 per participant) to Instagram with an account set as public.

  • The uploaded photos should include the following:

 

  1. Year and precise location of the photo-shoot (Using geolocation);

  2. A title and a brief explanation describing its relevance to the competition’s theme and why the image makes them wish to go back to Mexico;

  3. Participants should follow The Mexican Embassy’s Instagram account @Embamex_gbr as well as Aeromexico’s Instagram Account @aeromexico, the Mexican Tourism Board @visitmexico and Grand Velas Resort Los Cabos @grandvelascabos

 

Criteria for uploading photos:

  • The topic of the picture should be in line with the contest’s theme, i.e. portraying Mexico’s landscape, cultural heritage, rich history, colour and lively traditions and/or the hospitality of its people;

  • Creativity and originality;

  • Photos can be in colour or black and white;

  • They must not be digitally manipulated, but can be edited using Instagram filters and its creative tools;

  • Participants must retain a hard copy as proof of their authorship;

@Embamex_gbr should be mentioned in the caption as well as the hashtags #MyPicofMexico and the accounts of @visitmexico @grandvelascabos and @aeromexico.

  • The photos should be uploaded from : ---- August 2017 until October 2017

-First Award- 4 days and 3 nights for two at Grand Velas Los Cabos @grandvelascabos. (From 16th January to 15th March 2018 with boletos premio sponsored by @aeromexico. Terms and conditions will apply). And a visit to Cabo Pulmo National Marine Reserve @visitloscabosuk.

How will the winners be chosen?

 

After the photos are uploaded to the participant’s Instagram account, a panel of qualified judges will review the submissions based on a pre-selection from all the pictures that have met the above-mentioned criteria. (It is mandatory to follow and mention the account @Embamex_gbr in the caption and to use the appropriate hashtags.) After a careful review of the best photographs, the judges will select (with full autonomy) the three best submissions, based on:

 

·The creativity and originality of the photo;
·The quality of the submission; and
·How the submission reflects passion and inspiration for Mexico

The short-list of finalists’ entries will be notified through Instagram by @Embamex_gbr on 3rd November 2017.

The judges´ decision is final, binding, and conclusive (without appeal) in all matters related to this contest and the awarding of the prizes.

Photographs which do not comply with the requirements or which are considered offensive, obscene, discriminatory, or inappropriate will be immediately disqualified and reported.

 

Participants will not receive any compensation for their images other than the prizes specified in the “rules” section.

 

Any circumstances not envisaged by the current set of terms and conditions will be resolved by the organisers at their discretion.

 

The personal data collected for this contest will not be used for any other purposes unless entrants provide explicit permission as indicated on the entry form. The Jury:

 

1- Manuel Delaflor @manueldelaflor (Mexico) Visual artist, winner of two photography contests in Mexico, one organized by Motorola in 2008. The second was run by the Anglo Mexican Foundation in collaboration with "Cuarto Oscuro" (the most important photography magazine in Mexico) in 2010. Some of his photographs are part of the permanent collection of “El Mexico de los Mexicanos” and were the “photo of the day” during the selection stage of the contest, this was sponsored by Banamex, Aeromexico, El Centro de la Imagen and Google in 2012. During the same year, 4 of his images were displayed on “Paseo de la Reforma” (the most important avenue in Mexico City), in an event sponsored by Intel. In January 2016 he won the "CAMARADAS" contest, organised by the Mexican Embassy in the UK. It was called the "Jewel in the Crown" of the activities related to the cultural exchange between both countries on 2015.

 

His work has been exhibited in Mexico, Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, and some of his images are part of private collections in Mexico, Spain, The United States, Germany, The United Kingdom, and France. He is currently working on his next exhibition, that will take place in the city of Sheffield, UK at the end of 2017.

RECIBE BANCOMEXT EL PREMIO DEAL OF THE YEAR DE LA REVISTA WORLD FINANCE

 

 

           El galardón lo entregó en Londres, por la exitosa emisión internacional que hizo el banco de notas de capital subordinado.

           Francisco N. González Díaz, titular de Bancomext, recibió el premio en el marco de una gira de trabajo por Reino Unido.

           Bancomext prevé una presencia continua en los mercados internacionales de capitales, a través de emisiones adicionales, al menos una vez al año.

 

Londres, Inglaterra, a 22 de junio de 2017.- El Banco Nacional de Comercio Exterior (Bancomext) fue reconocido con el premio "Deal of the Year" que otorga la revista World Finance, con sede en Londres, debido a su exitosa emisión internacional, en agosto de 2016, de un bono híbrido por 700 millones de dólares de nivel 2 (Tier-2).

Esta emisón permitió a Bancomext elevar su rango de capital en un 19%, con el consecuente crecimiento de su cartera de préstamos.

El Director General del Banco, Francisco N. González Díaz, recibió el premio en la Bolsa de Londres, en la categoría "Deuda cuasi soberana", durante una visita de trabajo de dos días al Reino Unido.

World Finance es una revista especializada en temas financieros que concede premios cada año en diferentes categorías, tomando en cuenta el desempeño, administración de riesgos, mejores prácticas y calidad en el servicio de las instituciones financieras participantes.

Durante su visita de trabajo a Londres, Francisco N. González se reunirá con representantes de bancos internacionales, inversionistas privados e institucionales para discutir oportunidades en México, y la consolidación de Bancomext como una institución autosostenida y sólidamente capitalizada para la banca de desarrollo.

EMBAJADOR DE MÉXICO PRESENTA CREDENCIALES A LA REINA ISABEL II

 

Londres, Reino Unido, 14 de junio de 2017.- Julian Ventura presentó formalmente a la Reina Isabel II las Cartas Credenciales que lo acreditan como Embajador de México ante el Reino Unido de la Gran Bretaña e Irlanda del Norte.

En una ceremonia realizada en el Palacio de Buckingham, el Embajador Ventura transmitió un saludo del Presidente Enrique Peña Nieto, al tiempo que reafirmó el compromiso de México con el continuo fortalecimiento de los históricos vínculos de amistad y cooperación entre ambas naciones.

La Visita de Estado del Presidente Peña Nieto en marzo de 2015, puso de relieve la decisión de los gobiernos de México y del Reino Unido de emprender un esfuerzo concertado para intensificar los vínculos bilaterales en una amplia gama de ámbitos prioritarios, incluyendo el comercio, la inversión, la educación, la ciencia y la tecnología, el turismo la innovación y las finanzas. El Año Dual México-Reino Unido 2015 mostró lo mejor de las expresiones artísticas y culturales de cada país y sentó las bases para el futuro desarrollo de la cooperación bilateral. México y el Reino Unido también han fortalecido significativamente el diálogo y la coordinación frente a retos globales como el cambio climático y el desarrollo sostenible, en el marco de las Naciones Unidas, el G-20 y diversas instancias multilaterales.

El Embajador Ventura, diplomático de carrera en el Servicio Exterior Mexicano quien previamente encabezaba la embajada en China, presentó las copias de sus Cartas Credenciales a la Cancillería británica el pasado 31 de marzo, al día siguiente de su arribo a Londres.
