FRIDA KAHLO INSPIRES THE ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET

 

LONDON, United Kingdom, 15th April 2016.- The world famous English National Ballet features the contemporary ballet “She Said” inspired by the life of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.

Presenting performances from 13th – 16th April at the Sadlers Wells theatre, the Spanish ballerina and Director, Tamara Rojo, features a new super production with three new pieces created by world-class female choreographers Aszure Barton, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Yabin Wang, in collaboration with director Nancy Meckler and composer Peter Salem.

The show begins with “Broken Wings”, which tells the story and most important moments in the life of the Mexican artist, from her life-changing accident as a teenager to her stormy relationship with painter Diego Rivera.

This rare opportunity, one of a kind, to experience three of the world’s most talented choreographers, ballerinas, composers and artists in a single evening to remember the life of Frida Kahlo through ballet.

“She Said” is part of a series of events inspired in Frida Kahlo performed in the United Kingdom, which intends to be one of the most spectacular visual performances about one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century, Frida Kahlo.
