The Mexican tradition of Día de Muertos is not only a homage to the dead, but also a celebration of life through art, music, dance and food. As part of the Queen’s Hall autumn programme, Mexican guitarist Morgan Szymanski present a programme which celebrates the lives and work of Mexican, Latin American and Spanish composers including Andrés Segovia, Violeta Parra and Antonio Lauro, as well as his own compositions in a unique musical feast not to be missed. |

Szymanski’s guitar is accompanied by Olly Cox in the marimba/percussion, Carlos Arredondo in voice/guitar, Galo Cerón in the cuatro/charango/guitar and Emma Smith in the double bass. Described as ‘a player destined for future glories’ (Classical Guitar Magazine) Morgan Szymanski has been highlighted as ‘One to Watch’ by both Gramophone Magazine and the BBC Music Magazine. Morgan Szymanski was the featured artist on the cover of Classical Guitar Magazine, and has recently been selected as a finalist for the ‘Outstanding Young Artist Award’ by MIDEM Classique/IAMA. |
