In its 43rd edition, 25,000 people will attend from 124 countries with the presence of publishers, booksellers, literary agents, librarians, media, and industry suppliers to make this event this second most important book fair in Europe. In this edition, the University of Sinaloa is the invited publisher to the Pavilion of Mexico. In addition to a representation of the Guadalajara International Book Fair, the following publishers will be present at the Fair: Grupo Planeta, Cidcli, Fondo Editorial Estado de México, Siglo Ventiuno editorial, Libros UNAM, Ediciones Tecolote, and Trillas. The Cámara Nacional de la Industria Editorial Mexicana (National Association of the Mexican Publishing Industry) will be at the Fair for the third year in a row and invite you to visit the Mexico Pavilion, 5G-120, where a sample of their publications will be exhibited, as well as to attend the events of their cultural programme. This year, the following talks are including in the cultural programme, organised by the University of Sinaloa: Jeanette Clarion presents “The Literary Work of Elizabeth Bishop”; Elmer Mendoza “Los peligros de escribir la novella policiaca en México” (The dangers of writing the crime novel in Mexico); Elmer Mendoza and Peter Watt “Myths and Latin American Relation in Post-Truth Times”; and Jaime Labastida “The importance of the link between universities and publishers in Mexico”.
