The Cultural Section of the Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom is aimed at strengthening the cultural ties among both countries. This mission is instrumented through four main working areas:

  • Promote the knowledge among the British society of various Mexican cultural expressions, both traditional and contemporary.
  • Support activities of Mexican creators in the United Kingdom through a structured, inclusive and diverse cultural programme.
  • Promote exchange and cooperation among cultural institutions from Mexico and the United Kingdom.
  • Develop tools for the dissemination and access to artistic and cultural activities for the Mexican community in the United Kingdom.

The Embassy implements this cultural programme in collaboration with a variety of counterparts, including public and private institutions, cultural associations, universities and members of the Mexican community living in the UK, among others.

The cultural program is outlined in December of the year prior to the one when the activities will be taking place. Therefore, the deadline for receiving projects and requests for support is October 15th of each year, in order to duly consider proposals for the following year.
