The prestigious Mexican conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto will perform alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO), conducting Rossini's Stabat Mater and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 on October 21st at the Royal Festival Hall, London. The concert is part of the activities organized by the “Belief and Beyond Belief” festival.

     Nowadays, Carlos Miguel Prieto is recognised as a highly influential cultural leader as well as being the leading Mexican conductor of his generation. He is Director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico (Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional), as well as the “Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería”, and artistic director of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas (YOA).

Carlos Miguel Prieto will conduct the London Philharmonic Orchestra this 21st of October

     His charismatic conducting style is characterised by its dynamism and the expressivity of his interpretations, leading him to major engagements and popular acclaim throughout North America and Europe.

     Prieto will be accompanied by: Hannes Minnaar on piano, the soprano Joyce El-Khoury, the mezzo-soprano Anna Stéphany, tenor Kang Wang, the bass baritone Michele Pertusi and the London Philharmonic Choir.

* At 6.15 p.m. a pre-concert talk will be held with Dr. Stefano Castelvecchi, who looks at Rossini's Stabat Mater in the context of the “Belief and Beyond Belief” festival. Admission free.
