at the 3rd Spanish Song and Zarzuela Festival

 

   The Spanish Song and Zarzuela Festival, being celebrated for the third time, continues its mission of presenting the best of Spanish and Latin American classical vocal music and performers to London audiences. The festival began on October 26th with a concert dedicated to the centenary of the death of Enrique Granados. This time the Mexican baritone Ricardo López will perform in London together with pianist Gavin Roberts with the program “Gypsy Song” on Monday 28th of November as part of this important festival.

  

   Ricardo López is considered one of the most promising Mexican young singers, he won the 1st Price in the XXVI edition of the Carlo Morelli National Singing Competition in 2008 and 3rd place in Iberoamerican Song Contest in 1012, and 1st place of the International Lyrical Singing Competition Trujillo, Perú in 2014. He has participated with the National Opera Company of Bellas Artes in productions such as Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci, Mascagnni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, Verdi’s Il Trovatore y Mozart’s Don Giovanni. He participated with Augsburg Theater in Germany, the Operatic Theatre in Rijeka Croatia, the Opera Köln in Germany and the Solis Theater in Montevideo Uruguay.
