Widely recognized as the founder of the Narco-Literature, Elmer Mendoza is one of the most outstanding names in contemporary Mexican literature. Dramatist and storyteller as well as novelist, it is for his novels in the noir genre starring his detective "zurdo" (“lefty”) Mendieta, immersed in the sordid violence.

“If you are fed up with formulaic noir novels and looking for something fresher, Elmer Mendoza's dazzling Silver Bullets could be the answer” John Dugdale, Sunday Times

To celebrate the publication of his first book in English "Silver Bullets" (Balas de plata) , to be followed by "The Acid Test" (La prueba del ácido), Elmer Mendoza will talk with the literary translator Nick Caistor on the relationship between reality and fiction in the genre. The talk will be followed by a wine reception and book signing by the author.
