On March 1, 2023, Mexico and Guyana celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. This milestone provided an opportunity to renew and strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity that have characterized the relationship between our peoples. About the ambassador
Amb. Mauricio Vizcaíno Crespo
Ambassador Mauricio Vizcaíno Crespo joined the Mexican Foreign Service in 2013 and is currently accredited as Head of the Embassy of Mexico in Georgetown, Guyana, and as Permanent Observer to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). He presented his Credentials to the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, on January 31, 2023.
Ambassador Vizcaíno Crespo served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2014, in the General Directorates for Regional Organizations and Mechanisms of the Americas and for Educational and Cultural Cooperation. He was later assigned to the Mexican Embassy in Peru, in charge of the Consular Section, as well as Cooperation, Culture and Pacific Alliance Affairs (2014-2019). From August 2019 to November 2022, he served as Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., at the Mexican Embassy in Venezuela; during that period he also chaired the Council of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) based in Caracas, Venezuela.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, with a Double Degree in Administration from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Clermont-Ferrand, France.
