Procedure for submitting the application

  1. Make sure you have the documentation indicated in the requirements.
  2. Request an individual appointment to submit your application. This procedure is completed by obtaining an appointment through the Mi consulado electronic system. You can access Here.
  3. Present yourself on the day and time of the assigned appointment to the consular section with the required documentation from the requirements list in order for the consular interview to be conducted. You must make the payment of the transaction fee on the same date as the appointment. The request for additional documents is at the discretion of the consular officer.
  4. The cost of the visa is $ 51.00 USD, to be paid at Scotiabank bank.
  5. The issuance of the visa is subject to the result of the consular interview.
Requirements

  1. Passport or travel document that is valid in accordance with the current international law, original document and a copy of the bio page (which contains photo and personal data), as well as the pages with visas or stamps. The document must be valid for at least 6 months.
  2. Submit the visa application form duly completed and printed on a single sheet of both sides . Download format Here, please do not fill out section V of the form.
  3. A recent passport-sized colour photograph, visible face and without spectacles, measuring a minimum of 32.0 millimeters x 26 millimeters and a maximum of 39.0 millimeters x 31.0 millimeters, white background, facing the front (no more than 30 days prior to the application).
  4. If the foreigner is not a national of the country where he/she applies for the visa; original and copy of the document that proves your legal stay.
  5. Present the documentation that proves any of the following:

      1. Original and copy of the acceptance letter from an institution belonging to the National Educational System to carry out courses, studies, research projects, and academic or professional training for a period of less than 180 days, with the institution's letterhead, stating the following:

      1. Full name of the applicant and nationality;
      2. Level, degree and area of study that the applicant intends to pursue;
      3. Name of the course or academic activity to which you have been accepted;
      4. Start and end date of the course or academic activity;
      5. Cost of registration for the course or academic activity, and
      6. Identification data and official registration of the educational institution.

      2. Economic solvency to cover the amount of tuition, accommodation and living expenses during their stay in Mexico, accredited by:

      1. Original and copy of proof of investments or bank accounts during the last 3 months, or.
      2. Original and copy of the documents that show that you have a job, pension or scholarship during the last 3 months.

      Solvency may be accredited by the applicant, his parents, his spouse, his common-law wife or common-law partner or equivalent figure; or by whoever exercises parental authority or guardianship; or with a letter from the educational institution that proves that they have been the beneficiary of a scholarship or document from a banking or financial institution that proves that they have the financing.

Important aspects to consider

  1. The interested person is the only one who will be given information about the status of the process.
  2. In the case of girls, boys, adolescents or persons who are subject to legal protection under the terms of civil law, the visa application form must be signed by both parents or by the person exercising parental authority or guardianship in the presence of the consular official or employee.
  3. If the parent does not physically present themselves to the consular office to obtain the visa for his minor child, he must present the notarized authorization of the other parent stating his consent to obtain a Mexican visa.
  4. In the case of girls, boys or adolescents whose parental authority only corresponds to one of the parents by judicial judgment, a certified copy of the official document so determined shall be provided. In the case of a document granted in a third country, it must be legalized or apostilled as the case may be, with translation in the case of a language other than Spanish.
  5. Current visa holders from Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and any of the countries of the Schengen area (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Slovakia, Estonia, Finland, France, Slovenia, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland), as well as the member countries of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia and Peru), do not require a Mexican visa to enter Mexico.
