Information on Patrol Verification at Mexico-U.S. Border

On April 13, a group of Mexican military personnel encountered two U.S. soldiers in the vicinity of the Parcelas neighborhood of Ciudad Juarez. The soldiers were conducting border support operations in an unmarked vehicle south of the border fence but within U.S. territory, in an area where the border is not clearly apparent due to the geography of the region. After investigating the situation, it was determined that the U.S. soldiers' vehicle would be positioned north of the border fence to avoid confusion.

This type of incident is common, as it involves the routine  patrolling of the area, and has no consequences for either government, which maintain fluid communications at all times. On this specific occasion, they were in direct and timely contact.

Mexico reiterates its full commitment to maintaining a good bilateral relationship based on trust and mutual respect.
