 “Chihuahua Month in the United States” begins in Washington, D.C. with activities and events.

 

  • Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma Barragán and Chihuahua governor María Eugenia Campos Galván are set to inaugurate the “Chihuahua Month in the United States” at the Mexican Cultural Institute.
  • Chihuahua joins the initiative by the Embassy of Mexico in the United States for the economic, tourism and cultural promotion of all Mexican states.

 

As part of the “Chihuahua Month in the United States” the Embassy of Mexico and the Chihuahua state government, inform that on Monday, October 31st, 2022, Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma Barragán and Chihuahua governor María Eugenia Campos Galván will inaugurate the activities in Washington, D.C.

The events will be held at the Mexican Cultural Institute (MCI) and intend to expose more of the cultural richness of Chihuahua to the media, decision-makers, and American audiences, to attract more investment and tourism to the state.

During the " Chihuahua Month in the United States ", Ambassador Moctezuma and Governor Campos Galván will lead meetings with key US actors to promote greater investment, innovation, and tourism into the state. The meetings will focus on promoting more investment in the aerospace sector, improvements in border infrastructure, and the strengthening of value chains in key components such as semiconductors.

 

Through work meetings with tour operator representatives, organizations, and companies dedicated to the tourism sector, Chihuahua will show its wide touristic offer. An essential component of the week will be the promotion of the cultural bastions of the state, such as its gastronomy and unique artistic samples.

The MCI will host an extensive cultural program that ranges from the display of an altar on the occasion of the Day of the Dead that emulates a Rarámuri offering, to sotol tastings and traditional food. Among the scheduled activities, stands out a special screening of the short film “Lorena, Pies Ligeros” which promotes the most important traditions of the state as well as the photographic exhibitions “Chihuahua Infinito” and “Rarámuris: Guardians of forests and traditions”.
