Working visit of the Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma to San Diego, California

The Embassy of Mexico in the United States informs that Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma Barragán will visit the city of San Diego, California, from June 11 to 14, 2022 to attend, among other activities and events, the BIO International Convention 2022, which showcases the most outstanding results and advances in biotechnology, health sciences and therapeutics, as well as public policies in the sector. 

During this convention, Ambassador Moctezuma will participate in the inauguration of the Mexican Pavilion, which includes Mexican scientific and academic institutions that will participate in the convention. The Ambassador will hold meetings with the members of the Board of Directors of BIO to discuss agricultural and environmental cooperation between Mexico and the United States. 

Ambassador Moctezuma will also visit the Otay Mesa and the San Ysidro ports of entry, considered key infrastructure sites for the flow of goods and services, as well as the operation of regional value chains. He will also visit cultural sites of great Mexican influence, such as the Museum of Art, the Mingei Museum and Casa Mexico in Balboa Park. 

As part of his efforts to establish links with local authorities and for the benefit of Mexican communities, Ambassador Moctezuma will meet with members of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Association of Governments and Todd Gloria, mayor of San Diego, to explore opportunities for greater ties and cooperation in favor of our migrant communities. 

Finally, he will visit the Consulate General in San Diego, led by Consul General Carlos González Gutiérrez, to greet its staff and chat with members of the community. 

With this visit, Ambassador Moctezuma reinforces his commitment to the Mexican communities living in the United States while getting directly involved with the dynamics and problems faced in each locality, including the border region.
