Application Form Visas

All kind of visas require filling out an application form. All issued visas must be picked up personally at this consular section without any exception. The fees applicable to each procedure change every month according to the exchange rate.Please contact the Consular Office to obtain the most updated fee.

Note: If you arrive at the Consular Office without an appointment you may be turned away.

VISAS

TOURIST VISA FOR DANISH AND ICELANDIC CITIZENS:

DO NOT REQUIRE VISA if the purpose of their trip is tourism, and if the visitor will stay for a period no longer than 180 days.

However, it is necessary to have:

1 Copy Valid passport

2 "Tourist Blue Card" or Migration Card (such card can be obtained through the airline you fly with to and from Mexico, or upon arrival at the airport).

Please make sure you receive the migration/tourist card and you fill it in, either, onboard the airplane or upon your arrival into Mexican territory. The form must be already filled in before stepping in front the migration counters.

 


 

TOURIST VISA  FOR OTHER  NATIONALITIES PASSPORT HOLDERS:

Requirements:

1 Application form duly signed, It must contain 1 passport-size good quality photograph in color.

Copy of passport and residence permit.

Proof of economic solvency (e.g. your last three bank statements).

Proof of payment of fee once the visa has been approved and before your collection appointment.    

 


 

TOURIST VISA EXEMPTION CONDITION: 

PERMANENT RESIDENTS IN SCHENGEN SPACE DO NOT NEED A VISA TO VISIT MEXICO FOR TOURISM FOR LESS THAN 180 DAYS.

Permanent residents must prove his permanent resident status to the immigration officer in Mexico at the port of entry by having the word “Permanent” stated in their residence permit or by a letter of the immigration authorities of the Schengen country where they reside, stating his status as “Permanent Resident”.

 YOU DON´T NEED a Visa to enter Mexico for tourism for up to 180 days, although you must present a Valid Passport and fill out an immigration form for tourists and business trips, which can be obtained in travel agencies, airlines or at the point where you enter Mexico.

The immigration officer at your point of entry into Mexico can also request that you demonstrate that you have:

1 Sufficient funds

2 Return ticket to your country 

 


 

If you are a citizen of any other country, you need to go to a Mexican consulate to request a visa. If you have a family member, friend or acquaintance in Mexico, he or she can do this at the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM).

Foreign visitors can temporarily enter the country with the following articles, free of duties:

 

·Personal effects such as clothing and footwear in reasonable quantities in accordance with the length of their visit, as well as suitcases in which these are transported

·Books or magazines

·Medical supplies for personal use; a medical prescription is required if these contain narcotic substances

·Used sporting equipment

·A portable television set and a portable radio or tape recorder

·A portable typing machine and a portable computer

·Up to 20 records or cassettes

·A musical instrument

·Fishing equipment, a pair of skis, two tennis racquets

·Up to 3 liters of beer, liquor or wine if the visitor is over 18 years of age

·Up to 400 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco, if the person is over 18 years of age

·A film or video camera and two photographic cameras and up to 12 rolls of virgin film.

 

Working equipment, such as professional film cameras, introduced with professional aims and for a limited time requires a temporary import permit for up to 30 days, without duties for importation. Please consult the Consular Section.

Student Visa

For Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic Nationals *

Requirements

1 ORIGINAL passport (or other form of legitimate travel documentation) valid at least for six months.

 If you are enrolled to a full time programme in Mexico, please enclose the original FORMAL LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE from the school or university in Mexico. Please note that the school or university should be authorized by the Ministry of Education inMexico.
Or if you are part of an exchange programme, please enclose a FORMAL LETTER from your school stating the activities that you will be engaged in during your stay in Mexico.

3 Proof of economic solvency by one or more of the following options: State support for students, or a letter guarantee from your parents along with the last statement from their bank showing at least 500.00 US dollars per month, or a photocopy of the evidence of a grant, scholarship or similar.

4 One (1) accurate passport photos of the applicant.

5 Fill out and sign the application form stating clearly the date of arrival anddeparture to and from Mexico.

Visa for Internship and others

For Danish and Icelandic citizens (or permanent residents) visiting Mexico as students to write thesis or to do internship and the like.

Requirements

4 FORMAL LETTER FROM THE PLACE IN MEXICO where you will be doing the internship, stating that they assume responsibility for you during your stay in the country, explaining the activities you will be engaged in, the place where you will develop the activities, and the duration of the internship.

 Proof of economic solvency (SU) or a letter guarantee from your parents along with the last statement from their bank or a photocopy of the evidence of a grant, scholarship or similar; or photocopy of international credit card.

Business Visa

For Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic Nationals*

Requirements

1 Valid Danish, Icelandic or Norwegian passport.

3 A letter from the company you are representing, stating the activities that you will carry out.

 An invitation letter from the company in Mexico where you will carry out the activities.

Business people
To negotiate or sign business contracts, check on their performance, look for investment alternatives or, otherwise, invest in the country directly.

Directors
To attend meetings of the board of directors of companies legally incorporated in Mexico as appointed by the stockholders’ meeting.

Technicians
To provide specialized services previously agreed upon or contemplated by technology transfer, patent and trademark agreements, machinery and equipment purchase contracts, technical training or any other contracts related to the production
process in a company incorporated in Mexico.

NOTE: The Mexican Embassy in Denmark can extend a business visa only for foreigners who will travel to work in México, but whose salary or any sort of income comes from abroad. The business visa for foreigners, whose income is paid by a company based in Mexico, must be requested by the company itself at the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM).

Transit Visa

If you plan to visit Mexico on your way to some other country,and your stay willbe of no longer than 30 days, you might need a Transit Visa depending on your nationality.

 

Check the list of nationalities that do not need a Visa in the list in the Tourist Section.

 

Requirements

 

1 Passport (or other form of legitimate travel documentation) valid at least for six months.

 

2 One (1) accurate passport photos of the applicant.

3 Proof of economic solvency.

4 Proof that the person traveling will be admitted at its final destination.


This type of visa is FREE of charge.

Important You DO NOT need a transit Visa if:

  • You are Danish, Icelandic or Norwegian or of any other of the nationalities listed on the following link >here
  • You will be making just a stop-over on a Mexican airport for less than 6 hours, regardless of your nationality.

 

Household´s Goods Visa

 

Requirements

 

1 FM2 or FM3 (Mexican authorization to live or work in Mexico, issued by the Ministry of the Interior of Mexico or any Mexican Embassy or Consulate, during previous months).

 

2 Original and three photocopies of the household’s goods inventory in Spanish and typewritten.

 

3 Electronic items must be described including the model, serial number and brand.

 

4 First page must have the name of the person who holds FM2 or FM3, address in Denmark, Norway or Iceland, his/her temporality of residence,

and the address in Mexico. The last page must be signed by the titular of the FM2 or FM3.

 

5 Also write the address where you lived in Denmark, Norway or Iceland.
