TYPES OF VISA

Important: Please note that each applicant´s presence at the Consulate requires about 50 minutes. Only minors may be accompanied by persons exercising parental authority. Visa resolutions can take up to 10 or 12 business days, depending on the type of visa requested.

Visa for a stay up to 180 days:

• Visitor visa without permission for remunerated activities

1. Tourism/vacation
2. Carry out business-related activities (meetings, conferences, lectures, etc.)
3. Offer technical support to a company in Mexico, provided that no payment is received within Mexico or through a Mexican company
4. Transit to connecting flight in Mexico
5. Officially recognized university studies (one semester at the longest)
6. Voluntary service or internship WITHOUT payment
7. for adoption procedure (information in Spanish) 
8. Visitor (long-term duration - information in Spanish)

• Visitor visa with permission for remunerated activities (WITH work permit) 

Visa for a stay longer than 180 days:

• Temporary residence permit
• WITHOUT work permit (business, family member of a foreign national, marriage with a Mexican national, real estate, investment, university studies, pension/retirement)
• WITH work permit (employment at a company in Mexico)
