MEXICAN VISAS

Ordinary Thai passport holders need a Mexican visa to travel to Mexico.

  • The Consular Section is open Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM, with the last application accepted at 11.30 AM.

CONSULAR APPOINTMENT

Please be informed that as of March 1st, 2017 all consular services; visas, passports, certificates issued upon request of interested party, civil registration, power of attorney, etc. will be provided exclusively for people who have made appointments through an online appointment system created by the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs: Mi Consulado.

To schedule your appointment, you need to create a user account on the MiConsulado website.

Please note that if you incorrectly schedule your appointment (with incomplete documents, wrong dates, wrong service, etc.), it will result in your not being able to submit your application, hence the need to reschedule through MEXITEL. 

 

 

  • The visa processing time is 10 business days after submitting the required documents in a complete and satisfactory manner.
  • The Consular Section does not process incomplete applications.
  • The Visa Fee is 48 USD and is charged exclusively in cash in Thai Baht. 
  • Diplomatic and Official Thai passport holders do not require a visa to travel to Mexico for a period up to 90 days.

TOURIST VISA

 

  • APPLICANT: Must submit his/her application form (print on both sides of a paper) together with all the required documents in person at the Embassy. It is MANDATORY for all applicants to go to the embassy for the consular interview.For all non-Thai nationals, applicants must show their permit of stay in Thailand and its copy.
  • PASSPORT: Must be valid for at least 6 months. Applicants must also present all previously issued passports (original AND photocopy).
  • PHOTOGRAPH:
    • Must be color
    • Must not be older than a month
    • Must be clear and taken against a plain white background
    • Must measure 1.5 inches square
    • Full face (without sunglasses, hat, or earrings)
  • PROOF OF FUNDS:
    • Passbook OR bank statement (original & photocopy for the last 3 months).
    • Letter of employment stating applicant's name, position, monthly income, employment date and length of vacation permitted. This letter must be original and signed. Applicant must also present a photocopy of an ID card or passport of the person who signed it.
    • Owner of a company can submit company’s register certificate in place of employment letter.

 

NOTES:

  • Documents in Thai or other languages need to be translated into English or Spanish.
  • Visa fees are paid at the Embassy in Thai currency with exact cash amount.
  • The Consular Section may request additional supporting documents.
  • Tourist visa fee $36.00 USD.

MINORS:

In case of minors or persons requiring legal guardianship, parents or legal guardians are required to be present and sign the visa application. 

 

If the visa application is delivered only by the father or mother, it is mandatory to submit a parental consent (issued by the District Registration Office, whose original and translation are legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) from the other parent. If minors or persons requiring legal guardianship attend by themselves or with someone different to their parents, it is mandatory to submit the same consent in which BOTH parents or legal guardian authorize the visa application.

BUSINESS VISA – CONFERENCE – SEMINAR- OTHERS

 

  • APPLICANT: Must submit his/her application form (print on both sides of a paper) together with all the required documents in person at the Embassy.   • PASSPORT: Should be valid for at least 6 months. Applicants must also present all previously issued passports (original AND photocopy).
  • PHOTOGRAPH:
    • Must be color
    • Must not be older than a month
    • Must be clear and taken against a plain white background
    • Must measure 1.5 inches square
    • Full face (without sunglasses, hat, or earrings)
  • INVITATION LETTER / EMPLOYMENT LETTER:
  • Invitation Letter: Must be original, issued from a company or an organization in Mexico and must state:
    • Applicant’s full name and nationality
    • Full company/organization name
    • Company Registration Number
    • Physical address and contact person details
    • Applicant’s purpose of visit
    • Duration of the applicant’s stay
  • Employment Letter: Must be original, issued from a company or an organization in Thailand and must include:
    • Applicant’s full name, nationality and position
    • Monthly income and employment date
    • Copy of the company’s Certificate of Incorporation (with company’s seal affixed and signed)
  • These letters must be original and signed. Applicant must also present a copy of photo ID or a copy of the passport of the signatory of both letters.
  • One of these letters must state which Company is committed to shoulder financial expenses incurred and include item number 5 accordingly (see below).
  • PROOF OF FUNDS:
  • Copy of the last twelve months of the Mexican or Thai company’s Bank Statement (company’s seal affixed and signed). Applicant's last three months of the Passbook or Bank Statement (original and copies).

Please note that holders of a valid and multiple entry visa stickers from the USA/UK/Canada/Schengen can be authorized at any port of entry by the migratory authorities to visit Mexico as tourist, business visitor or person in transit without holding a Mexican visa, regardless of their nationality.

To enter the country visitors must meet the following requirements:

  • A valid passport at the time of the intended date of entry to Mexico.
  • Valid and multiple entry sticker visa from the USA/UK/Canada/Schengen.
  • Immigration authorities may request additional information such as: main destination, hotel accommodation, return ticket, proof of financial means (international credit cards, debit cards or traveller's cheques).

Visitors must obtain a landing card (FMM form) from the airline or at any port of entry in Mexico and complete this form with his/her individual information. The immigration officer will stamp the FMM card upon arrival. PLEASE KEEP IT IN A SAFE PLACE AND DO NOT LOSE IT. YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR THIS DOCUMENT AT YOUR DEPARTURE FROM MEXICO. The Mexican migratory authorities have the faculty to grant or deny the entry into Mexico if the visitor does not fully comply with the migratory regulations.
