(TOURISM, BUSINESS OR TRANSIT VISA AND DIPLOMATIC OR OFFICIAL VISA)
This type of visa is appropriate if:
- You are traveling to Mexico for vacation, transit, business, technical activities, artistic activities, scientific activities, sport activities, journalism or religion.
- You will be in Mexico for up to 180 days.
- You don´t have a work permit or contract with a Mexican company or employer.
REQUIREMENTS:
Travellers visiting Mexico may apply for their visas at any Mexican Embassy/Consulate in the World (e.g.: if you are flying to Mexico via Paris, you could apply for your visa at the Embassy of Mexico in Paris). Should you prefer to apply for your Mexican visa at this Embassy, we would like to suggest emailing digital copies of your complete application form and supporting documents (please see requirements below) for a pre-assessment before you come to your consular interview.
Visa requirements for ordinary passport holders differ from those for diplomatic/official passport holders. For ease of reference, please see the table below.

(b) - Last 3 (three) months’ payslips, AND - Original employment letter, on company’s letterhead, signed in ink, stating applicant’s full name, nationality and passport number, period of employment, position and salary. |
- Original invitation/sponsoring letter, on company’s letterhead, including the following:
AND - Photocopy of ID of the person who signs the letter with visible signature. The letter must be signed in ink. Scanned, image or PDF versions will not be accepted. AND - The organization or private institution inviting/sponsoring must provide original investments/bank accounts statements for the last 12 (twelve) months stamped by the bank. |

Because of biometrics required to process a visa, it is imperative for applicants to be physically present at our offices. The visa will be issued upon compliance with the requirements. Once the application has been submitted and the biometrics taken, the visa will be issued within 10 working days; however, this figure is indicative, as visas are normally issued much earlier (usually, within the same week of application). Appointments are not mandatory, but early application is highly recommended. If not present for collection, a courier company can collect your passport on your behalf. |
