Please note that travellers who wish to visit Mexico (regardless of their nationality or itinerary), holding a valid, multiple entry visa for the United States of America, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom or the Schengen Space countries DO NOT need to apply for a tourist, business or transit Mexican visa.
Additionally, permanent residents in the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom or the Schengen Space countries who wish to travel to Mexico DO NOT require a visa to enter Mexico as tourists, transit or business visitors.

Minors (under 18 years old) travelling to Mexico only require a valid passport and fulfil the general migration requirements according to their nationality. REQUIREMENTS FEES There is no fee for South African passport holders applying for a TOURIST, BUSINESS OR TRANSIT VISA - except for the Long-Term Visa. For other nationalities (Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe) there is an applicable fee payable in South African Rands. Fee USD

If the visa application is delivered only by its father or its mother, it is mandatory to submit a notarized authorization from the other parent. If minors or persons requiring legal guardianship attend by themselves or someone different to their parents, it is mandatory to submit a notarized document in which their parents or legal guardianship authorize the visa application.
Please note that the following costs are based on US dollars and the final fee in Rands varies on a monthly basis, depending on the exchange rate:

Please note that applicants must comply with our requirements. The visa will be issued upon compliance. Once you have had the consular interview, the visa will be issued within the next 10 working days.
Even though the applicant has been granted a Mexican Visa, once he/she arrives at any point of entry in Mexico, immigration authorities will ask the reasons of the trip, the length of stay in Mexico and how the trip is financially sustained.
Visa applications will be received only Monday to Friday, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Visa collection: Monday to Friday, from 12:00 P.M. to 12:30 P.M.

You will need to set up an account and choose the most suitable time for your appointment at the Consular Section of the Embassy. Once you have booked your appointment, the system will generate a confirmation letter, which you must bring with you to the Embassy on the day of your appointment. The letter can also be sent to the email account that you provide.
Early application is highly recommended. Please note that, if you wish to reschedule or if you miss your appointment, you will need to file a new request following the above procedure.
