::HOLDERS OF U.S.A., CANADA, U.K. AND SCHENGEN VISAS :: Holders of any type of valid and multiple entry U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen visas (any nationality) or permanent residence of U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen, Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Peru, Chile) DO NOT require a Mexican visa to travel on business, tourism, or transit purpose for or less than 180 days as long as they present any of the mentioned documents at the point of entry. This is not applicable for temporary residence card holders of U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen, Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Peru, Chile). Holders of this type of residence must apply for a Mexican visa. Immigration authorities reserve the right to grant or deny entry to the country. Officials can request information regarding the purpose and length of your trip, as well as the means to cover your expenses while you stay in the country. Please note that Mexico does not have any restrictions for foreigners to travel to its territory if they have the proper documents to travel.
The FMM is not a Mexican visa, it is the immigration form that every foreigner entering Mexico must present to the immigration authorities, along with a valid passport and visa (when applicable). As per new regulations, foreign nationals entering Mexico by air / maritime ports will have to obtain the NEW DIGITAL FMM (now called FMMD). The form recognizes the regular migratory status of tourists, business visitors and other visitor’s categories. The foreign national will have 60 calendar days to download their FMMD after entering the country. (It is highly recommended to obtain the form prior arriving in Mexico) To obtain the FMMD you need to create an access account on the following page: https://www.inm.gob.mx/spublic/portal/inmex.html If the FMMD suffers a partial or total destruction, is stolen, lost or is not downloaded within 60 calendar days, a replacement process must be carried out. The foreign national will be able to view the QR codes in the immigration filters to access the following microsite: https://www.inm.gob.mx/spublic/portal/inmex.html The immigration agents will review and stamp the passport or travel document and will place the estimated date of departure from the country, according to the stay period granted. Foreign nationals who wish to enter Mexico by land must fill up a FMME form which can be obtained online: https://www.inm.gob.mx/fmme/publico/en/solicitud.html Complete this form with your individual information. At the port of entry to Mexico, the Migration official will determine the duration of stay in Mexico of the foreign national. The maximum stay for visitors (tourists and business visitors) in Mexico is up to 180 days. Immigration authorities keep the right to grant or deny entry to the country. Si usted es ruso, turco o ucraniano y planea viajar a México por avión, puede obtener la autorización electrónica para ingresar como Visitante sin permiso para realizar actividades remuneradas (Turismo y Negocios), sin la necesidad de tramitar una visa ordinaria mexicana. Si su solicitud es autorizada, deberá imprimir el comprobante y presentarlo el día de su vuelo en el mostrador de la aerolínea por la que viajará, ahí un Agente Federal de Migración verificará su documentación: autorización electrónica y pasaporte vigente. Le recordamos que, si su ingreso es por tierra o por mar, es necesario que obtenga una visa ordinaria mexicana cumpliendo todos los requisitos:
La autorización electrónica tiene una vigencia de 180 días a partir de su emisión y es válida para una sola entrada.
A su llegada a México, un agente migratorio verificará su documentación y le autorizará hasta 180 días para permanecer en el país como visitante sin permiso para realizar actividades remuneradas.
Recuerde que, si usted es de estas nacionalidades y cuenta con una visa vigente de Estados Unidos, Japón, Gran Bretaña, Espacio Schengen y Canadá o es residente permanente en estos países, podrá ingresar a México sin necesidad de visa mexicana o de esta autorización electrónica (SAE).
