BERENICE DÍAZ CEBALLOS
Nació en la Ciudad de México.
Es Licenciada en Relaciones Internacionales por la Universidad Iberoamericana. Obtuvo mención honorífica por su trabajo de titulación y fue galardonada en 1995 con el Premio a la Mejor tesis de Derechos Humanos convocado por la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos.
Ha trabajado más de 30 años en la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, habiéndose incorporado al Servicio Exterior Mexicano en 1998.
Cuenta con experiencia en temas bilaterales en América del Norte, Europa, Asia-Pacífico, África y Medio Oriente.
En el ámbito multilateral y regional se especializó en temas políticos, económicos, financieros, sociales, medio ambiente, migración, crimen transnacional organizado, corrupción y derechos humanos.
Actualmente es Embajadora Extraordinaria y Plenipotenciaria de México en la República Checa.
En el exterior también se desempeñó como Cónsul General de México en Vancouver, Canadá (julio 2016 a marzo 2024) y como Titular del Consulado de México en Oxnard, California (mayo de 2013 a julio 2016).
Entre julio de 2005 y abril de 2013 fue Coordinadora de Asesores de la Viceministra del Ramo y ejerció como Representante Alterna (sous-sherpa) del Presidente de México en el Grupo de los 20, que aglutina a las principales economías del mundo. México presidió los trabajos y fue sede de la Cumbre mundial del G20 en Los Cabos, México en 2012.
En la Cancillería también fungió como Directora General Adjunta para Temas Globales (julio 2002 a junio de 2005) y ocupó varios puestos dentro de la Dirección General para el Sistema de las Naciones Unidas. (junio de 1993 a junio de 2002).
Ha participado en múltiples foros y conferencias internacionales y regionales, encabezando la delegación mexicana.
Dentro de sus principales logros destacan:
- Negociación y elaboración de la Declaración de Líderes de la Cumbre del G20 (2012).
- Participación como Asesora del Representante Especial para Cambio Climático en las negociaciones de la COP-16, celebrada en Cancún, México (2011).
- Negociación y elaboración del Mecanismo de Seguimiento para la Implementación de la Convención Interamericana para Prevenir, Sancionar y Erradicar la Violencia contra la Mujer (2004).
- Negociación y elaboración de la Declaración de la Comisión Interamericana contra el Control y Abuso de Drogas en la Ciudad de México (2002).
- Autora y negociadora de la propuesta mexicana para crear una Convención Amplia e Integral para promover los Derechos Humanos de las Personas con Discapacidad en las Naciones Unidas (2001).
Ha escrito diversas publicaciones y tomado cursos de actualización en temas de igualdad de género, desarme nuclear, seguridad nacional, combate al acoso sexual, protección de datos, derechos humanos, ciberseguridad, protección ambiental y cambio climático.

BERENICE DÍAZ CEBALLOS
Born in Mexico City.
She holds a degree in International Relations from the Universidad Iberoamericana. She received an honorable mention for her thesis and in 1995 was awarded with the Prize for the Best Thesis on Human Rights by the National Human Rights Commission.
She has worked for more than 30 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and became a member of the Mexican Foreign Service in 1998.
She has experience in bilateral issues in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
At the multilateral and regional level, she specialized in political, economic, financial, social, environmental, migration, transnational organized crime, corruption and human rights issues.
She is currently Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to the Czech Republic.
Abroad, she also served as Consul General of Mexico in Vancouver, Canada (July 2016 to March 2024) and as Head of the Mexican Consulate in Oxnard, California (May 2013 to July 2016).
Between July 2005 and April 2013, she was Chief of Staff of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and served as Sous-sherpa of the President of Mexico in the Group of 20, which brings together the world's leading economies. Mexico chaired and hosted the G20 World Summit in Los Cabos, Mexico in 2012.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she also served as Deputy Director General for Global Issues (July 2002 to June 2005) and held various positions within the Office for the United Nations System (June 1993 to June 2002).
She has participated in multiple international and regional fora and conferences as Head of the Mexican delegation.
Among her main achievements are:
- Negotiation and drafting of the Leaders' Declaration of the G20 Summit (2012).
- Participation as Advisor to the Special Representative for Climate Change in the COP-16 negotiations, held in Cancun, Mexico (2011).
- Negotiation and elaboration of the Follow-up Mechanism for the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention on the Prevention, Punishment and Eradication of Violence against Women (2004).
- Negotiation and drafting of the Declaration of the Inter-American Drug Abuse and Control Commission in Mexico City (2002).
- Author and negotiator of the Mexican proposal to create a Comprehensive and Integral Convention to promote the Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the United Nations. (2001).
She has written several publications and taken several courses on gender equality, disarmament, national security, combating sexual harassment, data protection, human rights, cybersecurity, environmental protection and climate change.
She is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
She is married.
