Call for Submissions: First Mexico-UK Interdisciplinary Congress

 

We are excited to announce the First Mexico-UK Interdisciplinary Congress: 200 Years of Academic Excellence, in partnership with the British Embassy in Mexico, the British Council Mexico, and MexSoc - the Society of Mexican Students in the United Kingdom. This unprecedented event will take place on 21 and 22 November at the Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom, celebrating two centuries of collaboration between Mexico and the UK.

We invite Mexican and British graduate students, experts, scholars, and professionals to submit proposals that explore pressing global challenges and foster interdisciplinary solutions.

Thematic Tables:

  • Climate Change, Sustainability, and Environmental Policy.
  • Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Social Justice, Gender Equality, and Human Rights.
  • Economic Development, Trade, and Innovation.
  • Cultural Connections and the Transformative Power of Arts.
  • Migration, Diaspora, and Transnationalism.
  • Health, Medicine, and Global Public Health.
  • Education, Research, and Academic Collaboration.

Each table will accommodate four presenters, with 15 minutes each to present their research and findings. When submitting, please indicate which thematic table you would like to participate in. Please also confirm your availability to participate in person during the congress on 21 and 22 November in London when submitting.

Submission Guidelines:

All in one single PDF:

  • Abstract (max 300 words).
  • Mini bio (max 100 words).
  • Full name.
  • University of affiliation.
  • Year of studies and/or degree.
  • Thematic table.

Separately, on the same email:

  • A recent photograph.

Submissions Deadline: 14 October, 2024

Submissions must be sent to the Congress Organizers at the Embassy of Mexico:

Please confirm your availability to participate in person during the congress on 21 and 22 November in London. Participants must cover their expenses to travel to London, as the organizers will not provide funding for travel.

We will only accept submissions that include all of the above components, and finalists selected to participate in the thematic tables will be announced on 25 October, 2024.
