‘MEXICO INSURANCE DAY’ CELEBRATED IN LONDON


 

LONDON, United Kingdom, 26th November 2014.- The corporate of British insurance companies Lloyd´s jointly with the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain (MexCC) organised the ‘Mexico Insurance Day’ with the main objective of explaining the vast potential of the insurance industry, pensions and social security in Mexico derived from the actual context of structural reforms in the country.

 

During the event, which contributed to foster relations between Mexican and British specialists in insurance and risk distribution, was an ideal scenario to outline the opportunities this industry offers.

 

Gabriel Anguiano, Head of Lloyd's Latin America desk, moderated a panel with different specialists in the field. Among the speakers who thoroughly described the insurance market in Mexico included Oscar Vela Treviño, Head of the Unit of Insurance, Pensions and Social Security from the Ministry of Finance; Mario Vela, Chairman, Mexico Insurers Association (AMIS) and Darío Luna, Director of Reinsurance Patria in Mexico, among others.

 

Through the presentation, Yves Hayaux-du-Tilly, President of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, expressed that although the country is going through a complex political and social moment, the set of structural reforms had not been questioned, and that the appropriate implementation is essential to meet the challenges the country faces.
