INFONAVIT RECEIVES SPECIAL AWARD IN THE UNITED KINGDOM


 

LONDON, UK, August 22 2014.- The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (INFONAVIT) received today the international award of Most Sustainable Bank which is given by World Finance.

 

The General Director of the Institute, Alejandro Murat Hinojosa, received the award at London Stock Exchange based on the application of the new National Policy of Housing boosted by President of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto, which tends to improve housing conditions and its surroundings, as well as adequating urban renovation actions.

 

Such recognition was given to INFONAVIT on the basis of its financial strength and constant innovation for the improvement of the process and sustainability products. The institution designed and implemented since 2013 a new strategy to move forward from a mortgage model based in the number of credits, to one that prioritizes quality of life and the heritage value of beneficiaries.

 

INFONAVIT took part in the competition process. On March received the news about the first place. During the award ceremony were present Ambassador Alejandro Estivill, charge d´affaires of the Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom, as wells as the deputy director of Planning and Finance of INFONAVIT, Vicente Mendoza.

 

The recognition of World Finance editorial has been given before to Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Wal-Mart of Mexico, Compartamos Banco Telmex and Grupo Hermes, among others, because they applied the best practices in market development and innovation trends.
