MANCHESTER, England, 28th January 2016.- Mexico participated at Destinations Manchester fair, considered the most important in England, as a premier touristic destination, amid more than 200 exhibitors and 25,000 visitors.
On 21st January, the director of Mexico Tourism Board for northern Europe, (CPTM), Vicente Salas opened the stand of 47.5 square meters in which tour operators and representatives of various national destinations and hotels participated during three days, guiding the audience on flights connectivity with destinations as well as with the best deals for gastronomic, adventure and luxury tourism, among others.
The representation of CPTM participated from 15th to 17th January at the Holiday World Belfast fair, an ideal platform for promoting tourism destinations and different national products, due to the presence of 360 exhibitors and about 20,500 visitors in 3 days.
Mexico's presence at these events responds to the need to boost the tourism industry, which remains as one of the sectors with main importance in the Mexican economy, recently recording a significant growth derived from several positive factors, such as better flight connectivity, an increase in funds for the tourism sector by development and commercial banks, as well as continuity in the strategies of promotion and permanent international presence.
Mexico's participation in both fairs is also enrolled in the fulfilment of the goal set during the Dual Year celebrated between Mexico and the United Kingdom in 2015; to surpass half a million British tourists traveling to Mexico, given the importance of this activity for the Mexican economy, reporting more than USD $ 13.8 billion a year.
