LONDON, UK, 13th January, 2015. - With the aim to promote a better connection with the Mexican community in the UK, the Consular Section of the Embassy of Mexico coordinated a meeting with a representative group of Mexican women living in this country, providing them with relevant information of different services.

During the meeting, held on 10th January, different questions were answered regarding documentation services and concerns about the mechanism for the vote of Mexicans abroad -on occasion of next election processes- as well as general information of passports, birth certificates, consular protection and information about the main programs of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad.

The meeting, led by the Head of the Consular Section of Mexico in London, Anibal Gomez-Toledo, was also useful to encourage the Mexican community’s organization in the United Kingdom and the celebration of seasonal activities such as the traditional sharing of the “Three Wise Men Rosca” (Rosca de Reyes).

Among the participants in the group of Mexican women in London were people from Mexico City and various states such as Aguascalientes, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Puebla, Sonora, Zacatecas, among others.

The meeting with the group of Mexican women in the UK is the first of a series of meetings that the Consular Section of the Embassy has planned  to organise during 2015, the “Year of Mexico in the United Kingdom”, aimed to strengthening its links with the Mexican population in this country.
