THE BOOK “CONTEMPORARY ART IN MEXICO” IS PRESENTED IN THE UK

 

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, 15 October 2014.- The book "Contemporary Art in Mexico" that graphically displays an update study on the successful work of a hundred artists, personalities and institutions involved in the art.

 

The Ambassador of Mexico Diego Gomez-Pickering said the book edited by Hossein Amirsadeghi and Catherine Petigas, a tireless promoter of Mexico; it represents an important reference point on contemporary art and confirms Mexico as a wellspring source of inspiration.

 

With the presence of Julia Peyton-Jones, Director of the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in this city where it was presented the book, edited by Trans Globe Publishing, the diplomat acknowledged the joint efforts to disseminate cultural expressions with millenarian roots inherent to Mexican creativity.

 

He referred that the presentation of this book could not have been in a better moment, when all is being set to celebrate in 2015 the Dual Year, as a result of the combination of the Year of Mexico in the UK and the Year of the UK in Mexico, through an extensive binational programme of activities

 

This will include an ambitious program of artistic, cultural, educational, scientific, economic, gastronomic and tourism events, and seek to provide a firm foundation for ongoing mutual cooperation and to foster better understanding between Mexican and British people.
