The Mexican ballet sensation, Isaac Hérnandez, stars in the English National Ballet’s latest production of “Romeo and Juliet” at the iconic Royal Festival Hall in Southbank Centre.
Hernández as Romeo and Erina Takahashi as Juliet, revive Rudolf Nureyev’s passionate choreography commemorating the 20th anniversary of his death. Hernández stated that when he first danced Nureyev’s choreography he felt trapped by the steps, but once the choreography was in his body he understood that every step had a meaning.
The career of Hernández began under his father’s guidance at his childhood home patio in Guadalajara, it continued in the most applauded productions of the San Francisco Ballet and the Dutch National Ballet before landing in the British stages. The precision and finesse of Hernández talent has positioned him as one of the Mexican leading male dancers in the world. Hernández is also committed to producing, promoting and teaching ballet in Mexico.
